How the hell does Manchin always get a "moderate" label. That fucking coal money vampire is a fucking earth criminal. He and Sinema not voting to stop the bullshit filibuster rules showed, if nothing else, that he's a piece of shit.
Well, the definitions have changed:
"moderate" = right-wing
"conservative" = off the rails batshit crazy
And, as you can see, even the media is in on the Orwellian doublespeak.
The goal posts have been moved so far it's another game entirely. Instead of liberal vs. conservative it's democracy vs. fascism.
It's been that way for the better part of 100 years. Simply because it cannot be restated often enough. The father and grandfather of two American presidents. Was implicated in the previous fascist overthrow plot of the American government to January 6th. That man went on after the discovery of the plot to not only not be punished. But become a US Republican senator.
He and men like him. Are part of the reason the United States overthrew several democratically elected governments throughout the 20th century. Replacing their elected governments with unelected fascistic strong men friendly to the United States. Who were often relatively quickly overthrown making new enemies for the United States every time that we still grapple with to this very day. That's right. The United States greatest export during the 20th century wasn't freedom. It was actually fascism.
That even 100 years on we still struggle. Really speaks to how fucked we are.
And at best, Joe Manchin is a Vichy asshole. He’ll take whichever side keeps him rich and powerful.
Came here to say the same thing. Moderate? Try greedy conservative instead.
He's always been a GOP plant. Sinema too.
He's everything the party actually stands for, and I'll only stop saying it when it stops being true.
That's correct.
Love to see it, the very least Manchin deserves is to face actual constituents and squirm for his reprehensible actions.
My guy who shoved the protester near the beginning deserves assault charges, full stop.
Agreed
The video: https://www.instagram.com/reel/C4Bqh-oRhXC/
So that was footage of an assault. Whomever dude is that shoved the protestor like that very badly needs to be arrested.
I would press charges
This is the best summary I could come up with:
A clip of a protestors confronting Senator Joe Manchin, the moderate West Virginia Democrat, went viral on social media Friday.
Manchin has also come under considerable fire over the years for his opposition to some green energy policies and efforts to combat climate change.
On Friday, the activist group Climate Defiance shared a clip to X, formerly Twitter, of their members confronting Manchin during a meeting at the Harvard Kennedy School with vulgar language and weighty accusations.
"Joe Manchin, you sold our futures and got rich doing it, you sick f***," one of the group's members, a young man, can be heard saying in the clip.
"Joe Manchin has betrayed West Virginians for decades, enriching himself by selling their future to the fossil fuels industry," user Piyush Mittal wrote.
"Not a Manchin fan by any means, but these kinds of stunts are immature and move no one toward the cause they supposedly are fighting for," Democratic strategist Chris D. Jackson wrote.
The original article contains 612 words, the summary contains 161 words. Saved 74%. I'm a bot and I'm open source!
That idiot democratic strategist who is trying to tamp things down is going to change his tune when he realizes this is a helpful strategy. Fuck him
You'll have this from time to time
