I first thought it's just strawberry jam.
Hear me out for a second: What if they are made from potato mass like the one used for dauphine potatos? I'd still prefer something less sweet than ketchup but still, way better than thinking about sweet waffles with ketchup >.<
That's passata sauce, not ketchup. Ketchup is a lot more smooth and uniform.
What if it were sugarless ketchup?
I have to admit: I never tried. Maybe if I'll ever get the chance, but my life went on without ketchup and I'm actually pretty content with mayonnaise or aioli :D
I’m going to say that’s a guava sauce, and love it.
Chaffles (cheese waffles) are a thing on keto. Waffles made mainly with mozzarella cheese. You can do them up normal/sweet or they're really good savory like this.

Tomatoes are fruits, so this is not that far from apple sauce.
Tbh it works for savoury Crêpes so if they waffles aren't overly sweet I can see this working. Needs some testing if the says makes the waffles to soft it could be bad, though.
Add some cheese on top and you're golden

Welcome to Food Crimes! This community is here to collect all and any post about cursed food and generally unusual consumables.
