Can we subsidize oyster and other yummy mushrooms instead? Because those are among my expensive treat groceries!

Took me a second to realize you weren't starting a bivalve struggle session.

Like it'd be $2ish a lb at this rate. I'd be cooking so many mushrooms, my family would get totally sick of them lol

I highly recommend growing mushrooms is you are friends with people who like them or your family likes them as well. Its soooooooo easy, quick, and low maintenance. The only problem I've encountered is having too many so you'll either be eating mushrooms for every meal for a while or you'll share with friends

The growing list of hobbies I'd like to have, but don't have the time/space to dedicate to lol

Honestly though as far as hobbies go mushroom growing has a very low time requirement

Carnists force us to help pay for their meat treats and then go all frothingfash "FUCK YOU WHY DO YOU CARE IF I ENJOY A BURGER YOU DON'T GET TO IMPOSE YOUR MORALITY ON ME." It even happens on this very site!

Dried beans are like less than 2 dollars a pound

i-think-that

[-] spectre@hexbear.net 5 points 1 year ago

The taste is great but they can be a bit dry at times ish how to fix

[-] join_the_iww@hexbear.net 10 points 1 year ago

to be fair, how do we know that that isn’t also because of subsidies?

[-] SpacePirate@lemmy.ml 9 points 1 year ago

Where are the free market libertarians? Oh wait, I forgot they weren't actually politically consistent or coherent.

More like $119.99 if you count the societal cost of climate change
