A shame for sure, but piracy in general is far too decentralised for "site taken down" to be an effective block. All (or at least 99.5%) of those ROMs will be available elsewhere.

Damn. I knew this would happen eventually, I guess. I've been avoiding mentioning them by name on public sites for years in hopes of keeping the heat off.

A tragedy, for sure. Vimm's Lair also happens to be one of the best examples of a great Web 1.0 site. It gives me a warm feeling, browsing around static, text-mostly pages.
