What does she think a QR code is?

[-] TexasDrunk@lemmy.world 51 points 2 months ago

Queer Rangers. It's a code to show that you're queer and trying to turn others queer. Morticians put things in dead bodies that will turn mourners queer.

It didn't used to be that way. There was a time when you could visit grandma at the cemetery and you wouldn't get the urge to take the beef bus to pound town. But now every time he goes he has anonymous gay sex in the bathroom of the public park adjacent to the cemetery. It's those QR codes causing it.

I read Queer Rangers and thought this was gonna be about a Power Rangers parody. I mean, they already come in rainbow colors, sorta.

[-] TexasDrunk@lemmy.world 12 points 2 months ago

Now I have regrets.

[-] evidences@lemmy.world 6 points 2 months ago

Nah Queer Rangers is a pride affiliated club hockey team located in Manhattan.

[-] Zier@fedia.io 13 points 2 months ago

Do you have a schedule for the Beef Bus to Pound Town? Asking for a friend.

[-] Swedneck@discuss.tchncs.de 6 points 2 months ago

sorry, best i can do is the timetable for the taco truck to flavor town

it's about fifteen miles down the road from titty city

[-] TexasDrunk@lemmy.world 6 points 2 months ago

Thursdays. If you show up later you ain't gonna have a good time.

[-] Zier@fedia.io 5 points 2 months ago

Cool. I have a whole week to 'limber up'.

[-] SilentObserver@lemm.ee 8 points 2 months ago

So it wasn’t the water but the vaccines that were turning the freaking frogs gay?

[-] Etterra@lemmy.world 9 points 2 months ago

A lot of these people have their own variations on similar themes. It's funny watching conspiracy theorists argue about who's conspiracy variant is more correct. Flat earthers are notorious for this one lol

[-] dogsnest@lemmy.world 6 points 2 months ago

This guy codes.

[-] AllNewTypeFace@leminal.space 67 points 2 months ago

Someone showed her an authentication app that presents a TOTP token, changing every 30 seconds, as a QR code and told her that it reads the 5G vaccine chip mark-of-the-Beast code from your body, presumably for lulz

[-] andrewth09@lemmy.world 13 points 2 months ago

This has the same energy as going back in time and bullying a medieval peasant.

[-] Twinklebreeze@lemmy.world 34 points 2 months ago

This sounds like actual crazy.

[-] Nougat@fedia.io 33 points 2 months ago

I bet people were afraid of UPC codes in 1973, too.

[-] Brunbrun6766@lemmy.world 33 points 2 months ago

Literally, religious idiots claiming the UPC is the mark of the beast

[-] superkret@feddit.org 18 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

I'm afraid of dress codes.

[-] SilentObserver@lemm.ee 9 points 2 months ago

I’m afraid of dresses.

[-] some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org 12 points 2 months ago

This is the kind of thinking you saw in A Beautiful Mind.

[-] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 9 points 2 months ago

Except this person is almost certainly not a savant when it comes to mathematics.

[-] Retrograde@lemmy.world 7 points 2 months ago

Or anything for that matter

[-] Treczoks@lemmy.world 11 points 2 months ago

WTF? What crazy app is this nutjob talking about?

[-] HonkTonkWoman@lemm.ee 4 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

…facebook maybe?

E: That’s not meant to be a smartass reply, I fat thumbed it…

I genuinely can’t tell if she’s talking about an app on facebook, or talking about the Facebook app itself.

[-] Treczoks@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago

It still sounds crazy. Where and why should random QR codes appear? That person talks about them as if the appeared on the persons forehead or something.

[-] Lifecoach5000@lemmy.world 8 points 2 months ago

First we had to deal with microplastics and now this!

[-] cornshark@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago

This happens when the train thinks you've made some progress to the exit

[-] Trigger2_2000@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 months ago
