He's talking from experience. That seam down his middle isn't a racial trait.
When I was in the army I got a haircut every week. Picard seems like the type to also get a haircut once a week.
That means Mot probably tells him his opinion on all sorts of ship scuttlebutt.
New cups in the mess hall? Mot will have an opinion.
You just had Borg implants removed and you’re suffering ptsd? Mot will also have an opinion.
Yeah that's basically your classic American barber. Gossipy, usually bored, willing to hang around, joke and talk. That's what I love about actual barber shops, guys in my neighborhood will just hang around there too if their friends/neighbors are getting a cut. It's usually a one hour experience minimum, even though the cut takes 15 min and cost $12.
I always thought the joke was that after almost 400 years, the barbershop experience was the same. You could replace Capt Picard with Andy Griffith and Mot with Floyd and no one would blink.
This is 100% Coming to America barbershop banter and I'm all for it.
Four different Bolians, all of them played by Jeffrey Combs.
I’d watch a series based on that.
Yeah, but then there was the time Picard threw Mot under the bus...
Could you elaborate?
Thank you! And dang, does fandom websites get worse with age. I could barely see any content with all the ads.
He's always got le mot juste.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.
~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.
~ 3. Use spoiler tags. This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.
~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.
~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.
~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.
~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'
