Putin accidentally makes the UK a better place

[-] auzy@lemmy.world 31 points 10 months ago

Yeah.. Please can he do the same here in Australia

[-] GreatAlbatross@feddit.uk 7 points 10 months ago

Shipping people out of the UK to Australia?
That'd never work. You'd have to charge them at least ten pound.

At least 34 people have requested to move to Russia from the UK

What does this mean. So the actual number could be any number between 34 and the entire population of the UK?

Or, does it mean that there is 34 people that we know of. And they're having trouble finding anyone else.

I wonder how many Russians have left Russia in the same time period.

I also wonder what percentage 34 people are of the entire population of the UK.

It just strikes me as a desperate propaganda ploy from the Kremlin. Inflating a nothing burger beyond all proportion.

I wish our expats well. And the best of luck to 'em.

The current population of the UK is somewhere around 68 million.

Thats enough people that you could probably find “dozens” who would say yes to just about anything.

That group of 34 people moving to Russia have been referred to by some as the Russia 34, or R34 for short.

Yeah, I saw that.

They even setup an entire website dedicated to the magnificence of Putin.

Just search for "R34 Putin Russia"

[-] Hossenfeffer@feddit.uk 5 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

That’d be about 0.00005% I think.

[-] gedhrel@lemmy.world 4 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

It's around one in two million.

You can laugh, but the drywall installers of the UK ain't laughing. Patching up the headbutt dents in the homes of these angry potatoes is their bread and butter.

The trick is to fit 9.5mm every time, until their partner asks if there is a way to make it stronger.

Then fit 2 layers of 15mm soundboard.

Brave people... Not clever but brave.

Do they have to give up their UK citizenship for this?

[-] Valmond@lemmy.world 21 points 10 months ago

Who cares when they die in the trenches some weeks from now?

That was... interesting. My guess is those orcs couldn't grasp the efficiency of modern surveillance and warfare and thought that their constant losses only could be attributed to an old fashioned spy in their company.

They don't know and are not informed that their fellow orcs are being slaughtered by the thousands every day everywhere on the front.

You mean it’s not for painting and decorating jobs after all ?

[-] atro_city@fedia.io 26 points 10 months ago

[-] jabjoe@feddit.uk 23 points 10 months ago

So less Reform/Conservative voters in the UK. Win!

[-] Lifebandit666@feddit.uk 20 points 10 months ago

34 people from the UK according to the Torygraph. Loads

[-] Lippy@fedia.io 15 points 10 months ago

Defectors: "There are dozens of us... DOZENS!"

[-] Lifebandit666@feddit.uk 5 points 10 months ago

It's only just dozens, I mean it's 2 and a bit dozen, technically correct which is the worst kind of correct

Special guests on the next episode of "Ukraine Front Lines..."

[-] plz1@lemmy.world 10 points 10 months ago

I wonder if/how many of them will be unwillingly forced to the front lines in Ukraine within a year...

A recent migrant, identifying himself as 'Nigel F from Clacton', told reporters he was thrilled by his new life in Russia and the prospect of not having to see brown people at the shops or gay people on TV anymore.

[-] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 9 points 10 months ago

That sounds lovely. Y’all should send your transphobes there too

[-] disgrunty@lemmy.world 7 points 10 months ago

I'm sure they'll be very happy in Russia. I'm sure they'll have long and productive lives and won't fall out of any windows or anything.
