[-] BonesOfTheMoon@lemmy.world 52 points 3 months ago

Nobody is except those ring-tailed dingdongs called the Republicans.

[-] PunnyName@lemmy.world 23 points 3 months ago

And you. Since you posted with that exact name. Telling on yourself?

[-] BonesOfTheMoon@lemmy.world 21 points 3 months ago

No LOL I'm being sarcastic.

[-] fushuan@lemm.ee 13 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

I would quote it or somehow explicitly indicate your sarcasm since it doesn't translate well over text. You can edit post titles.

The fact we're going to spend money to print new fucking maps is infuriating.

[-] codexarcanum@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 3 months ago

Seriously, did anyone check how much money Rand-McNally and Garmin donated to the "inauguration fund?"

[-] Madison420@lemmy.world 6 points 3 months ago

Somehow I imagine schools that are just now replacing maps that show the USSR with these products of ego. Like we as a nation are hilariously bad with geography but we don't need to throw in curve balls to make us look dumber.

Don’t even entertain the name with a joke. That’s lending it legitimacy.

[-] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 31 points 3 months ago

Gulf of Mexico, you mean. The gulf of America is something that doesn't exist

[-] OutlierBlue@lemmy.ca 6 points 3 months ago

The Gulf of America is the wealth gap between the poor and the ultra-rich.

Instead of Canada, we're going to rename it Canamerica. Instead of Mexico, we're going to name it Mexigoingtoamerica.

[-] jaybone@lemmy.world 8 points 3 months ago

Then we can take back the Canama Panal.

Gulf o Murica. FTFY.

[-] SolarMonkey@slrpnk.net 11 points 3 months ago

Sooooooo back in 2008 when I lived in Houston, we got a solid inch of snow.. and the year before that when I was in California, it froze so bad the pipes burst…

I used to joke I brought the Midwest with me but it turns out it was just climate change :(

[-] protist@mander.xyz 10 points 3 months ago

I know this is a joke, but snow along the Gulf Coast, while not common, is also not unprecedented in the dead of winter. It was actually more common a century ago

Can we piss everybody off by calling it The Gulf of the Americas?

[-] Jimmycakes@lemmy.world 8 points 3 months ago

Nobody calls it that. Gulf of Mexico Florida man here. Republicans I know think that's dumb and no one plans to say that

[-] Sanctus@lemmy.world 8 points 3 months ago
[-] Fiivemacs@lemmy.ca 8 points 3 months ago

Pretty sure they have more snow then parts of Canada right now

[-] BonesOfTheMoon@lemmy.world 6 points 3 months ago

I'm in Canada and I have only a tiny wisp of snow that is frozen to our very very cold ground.

[-] Peppycito@sh.itjust.works 7 points 3 months ago

I'm in Canada, it's been snowing for days and we have 2 feet.

[-] richard3030@lemmy.one 14 points 3 months ago

If you still have 2 feet, the frostbite isn't too bad yet.

All this “””global warming””” bs is climate extremism! /s

It’s so bad that the temperature where I live (Edmonton, Alberta) barely gets below freezing during winter when it should be around -15 to -20C in December and January. Last winter, we barely had snows save a few snowstorms. Every summer, the city fills with smoke from yearly wildfires and it gets hard to breathe.

The climate was never like this in the last 10 years, yet people still say climate change isn’t human caused or doesn’t exist

[-] j4k3@lemmy.world 5 points 3 months ago

Nowhere is ideologically homogeneous. Stupidity is always a majority and the easiest to amplify.

The problems here are far more complex.
