I've played 2, contracts, blood money on loop. Absolutely nothing beats these games for pure sandbox level fun. Its all iconic and i know the perfect silent assassin route through every level organically through my own discovery with no guides.

I played these games hundreds of times over. Fuck absolution. Also i love splinter cell it peaked at chaos theory the absolute best shader model 3.0 game ever to exist

The only Hitman game I played to completion is 1.

"I need to use the bathroom."

I need to get on playing through the rest.

The Colombia missions fucking suck, but the music is really good.

No Codename 47? disgost

Absolution was so fucking stupid and bad. And the soundtrack for Silent Assassin, Contracts and Blood Money are really good.

I played the demo of the original poisoning the ramen or whatever with the rat poison over and over. Original game was a bit jank tho tbh

Contracts is basically a remake of Codename 47 but dark. Yeah, and it's the only Original Hitman game without first-person view. It doesn't even have a suspecion system and some missions force you to just go around shooting people.

I think hitman 2 was the most bullshit in my experience some of the later levels are just absurd. Fuckin roof beam ninjas wtf? Although nothing beats the forced stealth level in 007 nightfire in the office building shittest level ever made

Absolution was a pretty good game (in my opinion) but it wasn’t a very good hitman game. If it had been a standalone franchise with different characters etc it would probably be thought of as a very good game of the time. For example, the bit where you’re tracked by the cops for several levels had a great James Bond/Bourne Identity type feel.

I really enjoyed the reboot series that started in 2016, but Io getting bought out like 3 times led to the games being really annoying to actually purchase. If I wanted to play Hitman 1 and 2* in Hitman 3's updated engine I'd need to buy them all over again IIRC.

*Obviously you can pirate them, and apparently there's even a mod to add back progression while playing offline now!

The reboot games look really well made but the buying just looks confusing every time so i just don't. I could pirate but even that feels like it would be complicated stitching together content to make one complete experience. Maybe I'll do it one day but the episodic idea really killed the momentum of that reboot. Thanks square penis

I feel like if the money side of IO didn’t fumble the bag so goddamn hard the newest Hitman would’ve been considered one of the all time greats.

I’m talking parts 1-3 because let’s be real it’s one game they sold 3 times.

I think Blood Money was the peak of that era. Though I'd argue the post-Absolution series is even better. It has the same core mechanics of the earlier games with everything scaled up.

I want to play the new ones since the Reboot but not sure how. From what I understand, I can buy the newest game and it includes the missions from all of them in it?
