God damn, I love that man. Everything he does is awesome. If Fetterman ran for president, he'd have my vote.

Imagine this guy and Al Franken riffing off each other in the senate. What a goddamn shame.

[-] JudahBenHur@lemm.ee 26 points 1 year ago

Truly. Franken quits over a photo of miming touching a sleeping woman's breast's (not ok) then bobert finger bangs her date in a room full of kids and she's like "it's fine"

[-] worldwidewave@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Say what you will about Boebert, but her getting to 2nd base was definitely consensual. Franken had half a dozen accusations of non-consensual kissing or touching.

I wish the guy was in the Senate far more than I wish Bobo was around, but yea these two did not do the same thing

[-] JudCrandall@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

Did you even read the New Yorker story you linked?

Did the kids around them consent to seeing that shit?

What about the smell?

[-] JudahBenHur@lemm.ee 1 points 1 year ago

yeah thats all fair, and I knew that when I was writing it, about consent.. frankly i should have not even posted i suppose

Fetterman should sell this debt to a collection agency.

[-] drbluefall@toast.ooo 11 points 1 year ago

I'd go to court for the meme value alone lol

[-] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

Hahaha. I love his PS and I don't even like sports.

[-] dhork@lemmy.world 37 points 1 year ago

Too bad it's only $5k, if it was more he could pay it back in gold bars

[-] jeffhykin@lemm.ee 18 points 1 year ago

He could get $5,000 in pennies and glue them together in the shape of gold bars

I get it that this is about the optics of not taking 'dirty money'... but the reality is that this just hurts Fetterman's campaign while giving Menendez back $5k.

I hope some day I mess up so badly that people I've given money to decide to return it to me...

Do you hear that Nelnet?!? I'm as crooked as they come!

[-] jeffhykin@lemm.ee 18 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Spending 5K on advertising would get 1/100th of the visibility of "spending" 5K by sending it back to Menedez. The only downside is Menendez gets the 5K and if it was 5K of glued together pennies he effectively wouldn't even be getting that.

[-] Feathercrown@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Nelnet

Don't remind us lmao

By my measure, he's just beaten AOC in the troll index

[-] clearedtoland@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

But what about Gaetz, the Master Troll.

Edit: I take it back. He’s more of a Karen, right?

[-] Bel_Shamharoth@lemmy.world 11 points 1 year ago

Gaetz is a diddler.

[-] gullible@kbin.social 8 points 1 year ago

A million dollars across two decades as a senator is a relatively small sum, which leads one to question where the rest might be.

[-] sadreality@kbin.social 0 points 1 year ago

Other cash came from pre-approced sponsors ...

No issue with it

[-] Hairyblue@kbin.social 5 points 1 year ago

Fetterman is great. The only thing that would make him better would be a mustache. But I am biased.(grin)

[-] clearedtoland@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

“… The only thing that would make him better would be a baseball bat.” That’s how I expected that sentence to end. I have no idea why but I think it still makes sense!

[-] psmgx@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

People used to get beat in congress; Charles Sumner famously got beat unconscious by Preston Brooks in the run up to the US Civil War

fistfights occasionally happen in other parliaments; a big one in Taiwan comes to mind.

Kinda like an enforcer on a hockey team, so too do we need Fetterman to carry a bat.

It reminds me of the Klingon facial hair too. LOL

But they do have great proverbs.

“Revenge is a dish best served cold”—Old Klingon proverb.

[-] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

They also killed all their gods because they were inconvenient.

[-] cygnus@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 year ago

That p'taQ should focus on his own moustache rather than that of others!
