Hey, somewhat off-topic but is the English speaking internet uniquely bad? I took a lot of French in high school and still practice on my own, please tell me the French internet is at least the tiniest bit of an improvement.

I'm less inclined to sympathize with him. Felix pointed out on the podcast nobody here listened to that it seems a pretty common things when teens have a chronically ill parent they take advantage of it to become a self indulgent troglodyte. I actually knew a kid like this in high school like this, their response to have a low energy parent is to take advantage of the situation.
Thats generally because children arnt expected or taught to discipline themselves. In general children in this country arnt really parented at all. This is a classic view of kids being spoiled brats when possible.
I think this really didn't start till he was into his teens so he should have had a bit more of a sense of personal responsibility.
Idk about you but as a teen there's nothing more I wanted than all the privileges of adulthood with none of the responsibility. Even the responsibilities of a child were annoying to me.
His dad is alive, worried about him, and a not uncommon site on leftist streamers chats, username asmondad.
His mom died after lighting a cigarette while on oxygen and it caused an explosion.

Yes, he is a gross, stinky, chudass. However I question his lack of self awareness about the current “rumors” around his hygiene.

At what point does this become an admission that you're chronically depressed and just living in filth? Man is not well, obviously, and I'm not trying to humanize him but in any other conversation admitting this would set off alarm bells.
I genuinely think it's that or some other mental illness. He obviously has enough money to pay someone to come to his house clean everything every single day if he wanted to but instead he simply doesn't and lives in the trash.
I think thats true of most people in American society. It might present in different ways but not being mentally well is kinda of the norm now. Some people are just high functioning while others arent. But the society itself is so fucked up that anyone not atleast moderately wealthy is experiencing some form of mental illness.
