Hey! Wanna be friends? :3 (sh.itjust.works)
submitted 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) by thatchemguy@sh.itjust.works to c/asklemmy@lemmy.ml

Hey everyone!

I'm Nick (he/them), I'm 20 and I'm looking for Fediverse friends! I'm former military, and now I'm trying to get into college (Chemical Engineering). I'd love to make friends in STEM, but anyone is welcome!

If you wanna be friends, let me know!

If this is the wrong sub, sorry admins. Idk where to go :(

Follow communities and hashtags to get started

[-] thatchemguy@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 year ago

I didn't know you could follow hashtags! Thanks. And then what? I message people? Is there a messaging system here? Sos

[-] peterg75@discuss.online 3 points 1 year ago

There is a DM system, but that's not really what Lemmy is for. It's basically a reddit alternative. So blogging in various communities. Find topical communities based on your interests, read what people are posting, comment or post your own.

Uh oh... What did I do this time?

[-] Banana@sh.itjust.works 15 points 1 year ago

Oh I was just kidding because of how similar Nick is to Nicole, and evidently I don't have to tell you about her haha

[-] thatchemguy@sh.itjust.works 7 points 1 year ago

Oh yeah I'm getting a bunch of Nicole comments on my posts though I haven't come across her yet xd

Be aware that saying that you like nintendo is dangerous on lemmy

[-] thatchemguy@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 year ago

Oops... Well, I don't like the company itself, more like the games since they were part of my childhood :)

[-] jsomae@lemmy.ml 0 points 1 year ago

I don't want to make friends.
