Under city law, opens new tab, Columbia pays for the training and the salaries of the officers appointed by NYPD, and they remain Columbia employees. But they will also "possess all the powers and discharge all the duties" of regular NYPD patrol officers. The Columbia officers must report any summonses they issue and bring anyone they arrest to the local NYPD precinct.

Literal private police. Mfs bringing to life all the worst parts of AnCap without even the "Freedom".

This is a quote from a character in the show Maniac, who plays a couple of different security dude type characters. He says it every time someone asks if he’s a cop. It seemed fitting here.
