Nice little encapsulation of the boomers still lording over us giving the finger to younger people fighting for their lives.

My dad loves Carville and thinks he's one of the smartest men alive what-the-hell

It takes real genius to marry a Republican and then coincidentally lose every Democrat campaign you work on for the next 30 years.

the second most insane thing he's ever heard is that it's not acceptable to sexually harass female students

[-] barrbaric@hexbear.net 31 points 1 year ago

The ragin' cajun said that? The guy who has been wrong every time I've heard him talk my entire life? Damn, we have no choice but to abandon entryism.

“WHAT!?!?!?? You want to stop me from sleeping on the job and replace me with someone who’s actually trying?!? THAT’S CRAZY!1!1!”

watching the disconnected takes of the older democrats makes me wonder how disconnected i am since i'm closer in age to them than i am with someone like hogg.

[-] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 23 points 1 year ago

You can't be anymore disconnected than Carville, he's one of the king shitlibs.

[-] eldavi@lemmy.ml 16 points 1 year ago

i think bernie and aoc prove that there are varying levels of disconnected-ness.

Stopped clock moment?

Fuck James carville.

It's literally the thing that the republicans party just did to get much more radical/conservative people into office. And it worked.

I hope Hogg can do the same but I fear the establishment will be able to beat back the challenge to the centrists. The deep state/CIA/state department orthodoxy has to be able to be in control of at least 1 party.

skeleton-motorcycle hell yeah we are cranking our hogs

Okay James, I'll accept your premise if you'll let me have the necromancer that's manually beating your heart next.

James Carville calls David Hogg's plan to primary 'ineffective' Dems with 'ineffective' Dems the 'most insane thing' he's ever heard

[-] barneypiccolo@lemm.ee 6 points 1 year ago

Fuck this dude. He hasnt been relevant since the last century.

He's been married to a hard-core conservative for decades, clearly he's never been offended by their politics. His high point was just a waterboy for the Clintons, who were nothing more than Republican-Lite.

Time for all those DINOs to hang it up. Weak rhetoric and action from weak-ass weenies like him and Schumer and Biden are the reason that Conservatism has steadily gained traction for decades, as Democrats fell farther and farther behind, until they literally allowed Nazis to overthrow our government. He can STFU, and GTFO.

And Hogg is Vice-chair of the DNC?! This is the first I've heard of that! Congratulations to him. He was the biggest fighter after the Parkland massacre, and I'm so glad that he's not only still in the fight, but has moved into a position of power. Young people like him and Max Frost give me slight hope for the future.

Newcomm and Newsmega Rules:

The Hexbear Code of Conduct and Terms of Service apply here.

  1. Link titles: Please use informative link titles. Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed.

  2. Content warnings: Posts on the newscomm and top-level replies on the newsmega should use content warnings appropriately. Please be thoughtful about wording and triggers when describing awful things in post titles.

  3. Fake news: No fake news posts ever, including April 1st. Deliberate fake news posting is a bannable offense. If you mistakenly post fake news the mod team may ask you to delete/modify the post or we may delete it ourselves.

  4. Link sources: All posts must include a link to their source. Screenshots are fine IF you include the link in the post body. If you are citing a Twitter post as news, please include the Xcancel.com (or another Nitter instance) or at least strip out identifier information from the twitter link. There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance, such as Libredirect or archive them as you would any other reactionary source.

  5. Archive sites: We highly encourage use of non-paywalled archive sites (i.e. archive.is, web.archive.org, ghostarchive.org) so that links are widely accessible to the community and so that reactionary sources don’t derive data/ad revenue from Hexbear users. If you see a link without an archive link, please archive it yourself and add it to the thread, ask the OP to fix it, or report to mods. Including text of articles in threads is welcome.

  6. Low effort material: Avoid memes/jokes/shitposts in newscomm posts and top-level replies to the newsmega. This kind of content is OK in post replies and in newsmega sub-threads. We encourage the community to balance their contribution of low effort material with effort posts, links to real news/analysis, and meaningful engagement with material posted in the community.

  7. American politics: Discussion and effort posts on the (potential) material impacts of American electoral politics is welcome, but the never-ending circus of American Politics© Brought to You by Mountain Dew™ is not welcome. This refers to polling, pundit reactions, electoral horse races, rumors of who might run, etc.

  8. Electoralism: Please try to avoid struggle sessions about the value of voting/taking part in the electoral system in the West. c/electoralism is right over there.

  9. AI Slop: Don't post AI generated content. Posts about AI race/chip wars/data centers are fine.
