Yes they are tracking me and selling my data, but what does that actually mean? I get more targeted offers. More targeted ads.

We’ve become scared of being tracked by corporations, but for what reason?

If someone is in front of you house and looks through the windows with binoculars 24/7 you would be creeped out. At least I would be. That's nothing compared to the extend of what's collected on you though online-tracking. And it's for sale for anyone. That data is anonymized but reversing that process is trivial.

Government agencies buy data like this regularly because collecting it themselves without a warrant would be unconstitutional.

A couple of catholic priests got outed because one of their higher ups bought app data from Grindr.

Multiple stalkers and abusive ex-partners found their victims like through this.

How about the back button not working unless you spam it really quick?

I get that's not the point of you comment but you can fix that by right clicking it and selecting a history entry further back. That's not necessarily a sign of tracking, it could also be caused by an incompetent developer.

I'm currently in the process of creating a German translation. I use this comment to note and justify some odd decisions I made:

  • community translated to Community and Communitys (plural), that's how the website calls it in German
