Have you ever actually tried one out? I’ve got pretty weak arms and wrists, but I usually play with my arms resting on something. It’s not like I’m holding it out in front of me while playing. Doesn’t feel natural to hold it up like that, but it would be a bit heavy if I tried long term. I even added the cover dbrand sells which added another bit of weight, but my arms are supported so I really don’t care.

And even if (and that’s a big “if”) all of the participants got tested beforehand, what are the chances that the next person “inspired by” her will also do this safely?

Doubt I’ll be much help here if you’re worried about carbs. My main comfort food is pasta. Piles of pasta. I like just about any sauce or topping.

Only advice I’ve got is to think back to your childhood and see if you can think of anything that might scratch a nostalgia itch. That usually helps me too.

Fair. I do really hope that the fans who think like that do make a point of differentiating between HP stuff that does line JK’s pocket and stuff that doesn’t. It’s one thing writing or reading fan fiction but a wholly different thing to buy the latest game for example. I personally lost interest because I can not unsee her influence on the world she created. Wish I could though. It used to be such a comfort when I could still enjoy it.

Technically I’m still on it. I just stopped interacting there. Might post on some of the niche crafting subreddits sometimes in the future because I miss those on here. For everything else Lemmy is far superior. Decided to “switch over” when I found out that half of my comments and posts got shadowbanned.

I don’t know. It takes a while to get organized but I have confidence that they’ll get there. At least based on what I’m seeing at the moment. Could obviously still just slowly die down again. Time will tell.

Sadly a lot if not most of these changes will take generations to reverse. It’s the sad reality of things.

The main good thing I am taking from the news currently is that as far as I can tell the people won’t accept this for very long. Can’t quite yet tell how or what will happen, but I’d be surprised if the current regime are still in power in the same way 1-2 years from now. The protest are amping up at an intense speed, the videos coming out of the few republicans still giving town halls feel like the crowd is a pot about to boil over.

All numbers I’ve seen for record applications were for high level research and university level teaching. Maybe the medical doctors mainly moved states? At least I haven’t seen them making headlines about moving to Europe.
