The swarm of bots on Youtube just simultaneously creamed themselves.
If that dude turns out to be a left-winger
That dude's political leaning will turn out to be whatever the news we prefer says he was.
TFW the OP wants to advertise for a name brand company, but doesn't want to break Rule 3
It's not even that they "can't" fund their own cleanup. The put down a cleaning deposit before operations begin and just walk away when the cleanup costs more than they originally put down.
I'd say they give the finger while walking but they need their hands to count their profits
First, the bump to 66% only happens after 250k that year so $25k would not trigger the extra 16% eligibility. So standard 50% CG only would be applied. $12.5k taxed at your rate means the min rate which may be something like 20% (this number is a wild guess) so say $2500 paid to the gov. Not as bad as it sounds.
Streisand effect too: hadn't heard of this until now. Git downloads immediately get flagged as Trojans tho
There's nothing 'disingenuous' about calling it a 'loss'. It clearly states they posted a 7 bill NET loss. Not projected, not relative to the past... net. loss. They paid $7 bill to stay in business this year and are cancelling dividends. Their sales of gas reduce by more than 50% in 1 year. They aren't 'welcoming' anything. They are praying doing business in Asian markets will be enough to bring them back to profitability and the latter half of the article makes it clear this is very unlikely for a few years at least.
This is imo the best news I've read all year in that it shows strong evidence the sanctions are working. I just hope they hurt enough that Russia retreats from Ukraine, and gives up their plan of continental conquest for good, but I'm not holding my breath.
The og article was already posted in !technology@lemmy.world at least and I was honestly disturbed by the amount of people in that community that were okay with this level of scientific ignorance from writers in a technology-centred blog. It's like people WANT to be lied to and misinformed.
Saying what the Video should have included is valid criticism IMO
I agree, but, you'd be surprised how many people find many of these seemingly innocuous distinctions offensive (if only a little bit). For example, I was once chided by HR for saying 'no problem' during a seemingly friendly discussion.
The whole conversation is a facepalm. This should have been 3 lines:
"What's the last song you saved?"
'I am not comfortable sharing that information with you'
"Okay, if you're aren't willing to let me get to know your basic interests clearly this isn't the kind of relationship I'm looking for. Good luck and have a nice day" [ends transmission]
Is this, what, the third Canadian death in police custody this month?
