I love how being a communist works in regards to finding out new information about politics/history. It’s so night and day how much average socialists understand compared to the average non-socialist. Marxist analyses are such a powerful tool for learning once you start doing it as second nature. It’s like a cheat code for finding out real answers through all of the fluff, propaganda, or improper analysis. Being a Marxist and doing research has historically been the equivalent of adding “reddit” to the end of one’s search query to immediately start deducing real answers.
That’s why, as you outlined above, today’s marxists can have questions answered by somebody like Lenin writing to an obscure newspaper 100 years ago about specific convoluted modern scenarios that he would have had never conceived of. It’s also why anything non-marxists say that “Marx failed to consider” always just becomes a meme. Some Marxist scholar has absolutely considered and written about it at length.
