To be shot in the face and still return to protesting against injustice is the height of bravery and dedication.

I had neurosurgery to correct brain stem compression. I regained the ability to walk without weakness and tremors and to function in general.

I had to fight my insurance company for months because they denied my first surgery due to their perceived lack of "medical necessity."

You mean you are not motivated to make rich people even richer? Shame.

Employee-ownership of the company, like Bob's Red Mill.

It's a modified form of slavery: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wage_slavery

'The abolitionist and former slave Frederick Douglass initially declared "now I am my own master", upon taking a paying job.[31] However, later in life he concluded to the contrary, saying "experience demonstrates that there may be a slavery of wages only a little less galling and crushing in its effects than chattel slavery, and that this slavery of wages must go down with the other".'

I am in the middle of fracking country. I can't go to certain parks because the chemical smell the wells give off makes me lightheaded. One of the workers I met said they also use copious amounts of biocides to keep the wells clear of growth.

Police in my town spend a significant amount of time at the scenes of car accidents. I wonder what percentage of their time?

Their priority should be on crime and accident response and prevention and I feel like it is in my small town. I don't know how this compares to police in larger cities, which makes studies like these valuable.

Damn it. My shop has used Shopify for years. One reason I chose it was the excellent customer service and help I received as a new small business owner.

Greedy people at the top of companies are always trying to squeeze more money out of their operation, to the detriment of everyone.

Perhaps employees should co-own the companies they work for so they can be part of the decision-making process.

It is also much more complex than that. Some educated and otherwise intelligent people also voted for Trump.

In addition to taxation, make them share their wealth with all of their employees. Their working people deserve the money more than the government.

Back in the '90s everything messed up was "gay." The teacher won't let you turn in late homework, that's gay. Recess was cut short by a fire alarm, so gay.

I thought we'd moved past that immaturity.
