Looking back, the writing of BL2 caused two moments of cognitive dissonance at different points in time for me.
First playthrough, I was tricked into thinking I was part of a mini-zeitgeist for gaming with all the epic references.
Second time around, years later, my good friend and I ripped it all to shreds and had a good fucking time!! But I still felt that clashing, sharpening stone-like feeling when everything collides.

You would love Lucio from Overwatch. His entire kit is built around dynamic music and how you're playing the game at any given moment. He acts as the center of a large aura that either gives a passive speed increase or a passive healing stream. You can cross fade between the two tracks whenever you want with no limitation giving you a choice later on whether to amplify one or the other. You can even cross fade while you're amplifying.
The character's ultimate is just a bass drop that animation locks you into slamming the ground. I didn't even mention that you're a sci-fi roller blading support that can wall ride around the map. You can bass drop off the walls or just whatever high place you can. Nobody gets mad at you for looking cool as fuck.
The music is sick definitely take a listen!

if what we know about mr carl is true then he definitely would not realize there are soggy fruitloops in his beard. maybe even for days.
I don't need military service to find all of those benefits as a man. I didn't need to find them when I was a young man either. Those things exist already. Capitalism has all the incentives to analyze community building, isolate portions of said communites and sell it back to you. Military service is one of those "solutions" to a problem being created by that very concept I described. Young people are being sold isolation for a cheap, yet heavy price.
Also it's extremely ignorant and frankly childish to assume that a military (such as the US Empire's) isn't causing death and destruction at all because it isn't "officially" at war. These young adults absolutely shouldn't bond over drone striking children just because the US Empire needs blood.
Conscription is a dogshit concept. There are no benefits just profit.
