You hurt my brain.

Welcome to Microsoft marketing, you'll make a great fit!

Yup, as long as the current staff (by and large) are still at the helm of the Ars orbiting HQ, I'll continue to go there. I've lost too many other good tech news sites in the last decade, I can't lose another one.

The rest of Conde Nast is hot garbage.

At the marketing circle jerk that is the other game awards, I would expect this. At the Game goddamn developers choice awards, yeah, show some support for the people. OR, make the effort to reach out to the people that made the game - some of them were actually at the GDC! It's not like they dropped off the face of the earth after being laid off.

Imagine a best actor award at the Oscars not having anyone come up because the actor left Miramax to join Universal afterwards - but the fucking guy is sitting in the audience.

What an embarrassment.

In the movie the glasses let the wearer see the truth. This template is often used backwards but it's correct in this case.

Boots up gaming PC

Windows: "YOU IN DANGER ZONE! NEED WINDOWS 11! BUY NEW PC U SCRUB!!!111"

Load up Steam

Steam: "Hey, I see MS are being assholes - click here to install SteamOS instead"

Reboot PC

Millions of people never run windows again

I'm dreaming but that would be amazing. That would make this the year of the Linux desktop. C'mon GabeN, make it happen!

I mean I would get it if they had an empty box out on the court for the show, and then having to take away the empty show box... But they gave the kid a jersey instead? Wtf?

Thousand times this. For actual builders that care about the nuance it all probably makes sense but then there is me over here looking at pre-builts wondering why the fuck are two seemingly identical machines have a $500 difference between them.

I'm spending so much time pouring through spec sheets to find "oh the non-z version discombobulator means this cheaper one is gonna be trash in three years when I can afford to upgrade to a 6megadong tri-actor unit".

I'm in this weird state of to cheap to buy a Mac and can't be arsed to build my own.

I was very amused seeing something cross-posted in both "Not the Onion" and "The Onion" at the same time and side by side in my feed.

Well we know Tatooine orbits a pair of stars somehow and it's still in the Goldilocks zone just enough to make it semi habitable still. My assumption is that these are white dwarfs or something smallish.

Could this be explained that the local year is much shorter? Add in that Hutt is well versed in his own biology which assuming a he isn't strangled by a tentacle, could be slowly digested alive for a 1000 Tatooine years? He probably forgets that about his pathetic cute biped pets.

Break up the mega corps. Enact user privacy-by-default laws. Market dominance via "free product" followed up by bait and switch tactics should be outlawed.

Growing up we had a walk in shower, the way it was setup there was no way to reach in and not get hit by cold water. Especially a short kid with short arms, you were getting a full blast cold water trying to go "out" of the shower. The tap was the push-pull type and very difficult to modulate so limiting to low pressure trickle was basically a game of russian roulette. The best I could do was hug the wall and let it only get whatever corner of my body I wanted to sacrifice to temporary hypothermia that morning.

I'm not seeing "Amazon" or the plethora of online shopping stores that have followed in its footprint of complete and utter shit. To this day, I can't understand how Amazon became so big with a user interface so fucking awful but goes to show it doesn't actually fucking matter.
