I sort wonder whether because it is always a given that America will veto in favour of war/imperialism, and people are used to that, Britain and Frances vote for ceasefire was pre planned to be an empty but people pleasing move, with approval from America. Europe aren't complaining about America doing such a thing, over and over and over for a century. They seem quite happy to just disagree and have that count as meaningful action.

In this scenario, America is to Europe as the Republicans are to Democrats. Europe needs America to be Mr Big Bad so it's rulers can continue to pretend that they care about peace.

eghhh, he's run his course but he had a few good movies where he acted well, and he can play some fun music. I wouldn't say talentless. He's just on a very cash-grabbing run as the gaming movie guy.

Hot take, but to be honest, the whole 'bullying works' thing always came off as quite lame.

It's online discourse. You don't seem tough. You seem like the leftist stereotype of a keyboard warrior.

The chances are, a lot of leftists were probably on the 'bullied' side of the spectrum - more so than the right wing kids who were more likely to have been the bully. This could be too much extrapolation, but sometimes it seems like some deeper psychological impulse to enact justice on behalf of your younger self, and feel powerful.

Remember when Maduro didn't let aid into the country and all the hawks called for invasion?

(nevermind that it was aid from US Military planes, sent by John Bolton, the man who sent arms disguised as aid to CONTRAS to overthrow a left wing government... and pay no attention to the fact that they chose a closed bridge to deliver it over, when there were two open and working bridges a few miles away)

Glad someone posted this - I read it and was stunned at their talking points. It's not hard to put a case up against North Korea, especially in the average westerners mind, yet the BBC decided to go for the racist magical psyop explanation of what is quite simple a catchy patriotic song.

As if post 9/11 Country Pop wasn't the most brainwashed genre that's ever been produced.
