I think it's going to be ironic, in a lib sort of way, where Superman discovers that America bad, and that some deep state shadow agency is colluding with a foreign entity, but then Superman saves the day and America becomes the good and true America that America was always destined to be.

I think cishet people are prone to very gendered problems in relationships, and in general a lot of relationships from the outside do look terrible. But a lot of it is so normalised that it doesn't seem particularly shocking.

But then I talk to people in queer relationships and realise once you pull back the veil of normative gendered relationships there's a whole new layer of insanity and neuroticism in most people to deal with under that layer anyway.

The chances are, a lot of leftists were probably on the 'bullied' side of the spectrum - more so than the right wing kids who were more likely to have been the bully. This could be too much extrapolation, but sometimes it seems like some deeper psychological impulse to enact justice on behalf of your younger self, and feel powerful.

Up til recently (pre 12 years of Tories), salaries were a bit better, but mostly the cost of living was in line with the salaries, when you factor in all of the good public healthcare services and railways, even arts/culture.

Then they privatised all the railways and began making the NHS more and more private, while depressing wages of anything that wasn't to do with financial speculation and property.

In London that's all multiplied - finance is very rich, and your average non finance salary should conform to the set London Living Wage (which is higher than the rest of England). The London Living Wage is now however disproportionate to the cost of living. My rents gone up by 300 quid in 3 years, while my house and location have gotten worse and worse.

And now here we are. Pretty much everyone's feeling it. Anything that's not a fat moneymaker is shutting down, so the city has become more and more soulless, giving even less reason to live there other than to chase a bigger salary.
