Have you.. read the news for the past two months?
That was a fun day/couple of days.
I have a coworker who's Jewish and has absolutely terrible political takes, he seems down this week, but I haven't tried asking why because I am not sure how I will react to his shit. I don't think anyone has mentioned what's going on because everyone at work (tech company) lives in their own little world.
Thanks for taking care of them! Just wanted to say that milk is generally not a good thing to give to cats as most of them are lactose intolerant.
In my experience, just consuming more media is a good way to become more familiar with the facial features that we might not pay enough attention to differentiate between people. When I first started watching Japanese movies, I had a bit of a hard time grasping who was who, but as time went on it became easier.
Lovely this happened because someone complained after being banned from the piracy instance for being a transphobic asshole.
Equating Nazi symbolism with Soviet ones just feels like such a weird thing to do, there's a reason Nazi symbols are banned in several (if not a majority) of European countries, but is not the case at all when it comes to soviet symbols. I think it's specially disappointing because the image that was originally shared was a reference to the "spectre" line in the communist manifesto. The hammer and sickle symbol has a long history that supersedes the history of the Soviet Union as a state, even my "third-world country" in Latin America (I'm sure you can see in the logs where I'm posting from) has a history of using the symbol for liberatory causes.
This guy has like 6 different projects going on (Pixelfed, fedidb, Kbin app, Messenger app, etc.). I just wish he would focus on like one or two things instead.
I thought Jerboa had a cached version of the frontpage and had to refresh because of how fast it loaded the first time.
I am actually going to a mapathon event in my city this weekend, so yea, there's an active community of people making their surroundings more accurate on OSM.
Of course it is. How do these foreign companies own such large amounts of land in these countries? (Hint: US-sponsored coups). Why are these countries producing large amounts of a single crop via monoculture practices instead of solving for the nutritional needs of their own population?
