Exactly. I've worked under terrible managers and some great ones. Great ones get pissed off but they never, ever try and let emotions out. They were all to the point and knew what worked for every guy.

Smart. Even Google knows that they can't compete with open source models since open source development of AI models is much more optimized and a compliance serving model can't catch up with it.

So an open source model is their best way to leapfrog these giants.

Sadly CS:Source is rife with hacks and cheats. 1.6 still has really good servers.

Specifically talking about India, people started buying PCs when they first used it in offices or cyber cafes back in early 00s. And windows was the obvious best choice. Apart from that, the GUI was always very convenient for home use cases too.
