Yes.

Some people have so much money laying around that they don't really have an excuse not to help people, so they put an arbitrary amount into savings so they can pretend that they don't have the money they are continually putting away. Just oh I have 1 million dollars and I put 999,999 into that one account, so I actually can't afford to buy you this hamburger right now.

It's the intersection of peak material wealth and minimum emotional wealth. An incredible formula for boomer brain. Boomer children were on the forefront of multi-room and multi-bedroom homes being available to nearly everyone, and their parents were like oh cool I never ever have to see my kids

I might be wrong but I think their data centers are in the US and there's not really that complicated of an algorithm, just a lot of raw data on what each user likes/watches
