Was this a legitimate movement that got co-opted and taken over by the US? Because that’s what it seems like.
Why are these planes still allowed to fly?
Canada and the US—no matter how much Canadian leadership throughout history have tried to prove the contrary—are basically one nation. Very rarely are they diametrically opposed and when they are then the Canadian leader ends up getting yelled at or assaulted (just learned about Pres. Johnson attacking PM. Pearson in my history class, wild altercation but so in character it’s almost comedic). If Canada doesn’t want the problems to boil over then, yeah, the government is going to have to start pulling away from the US and solving our domestic issues properly. If civil war breaks out I don’t know what I’ll do but hopefully escape isn’t expensive.
Ironic to do this while Palestine is burning. Also he’s supporting the prolonging of Ukraine's destruction.
They’re really trying to get Russia for everything huh?
On Friday, the ICJ will rule in another case in which Kyiv has accused Moscow of falsely applying the UN’s 1948 Genocide Convention to justify its February 24, 2022, invasion of Ukraine.
This specific statement interests me the most as I am planning on writing a paper for my history course about the Donbas and the “alleged” genocide. A ruling on this would be quite helpful in my research.
Hitler without a moustache is not something I’ve ever seen before. It’s unsettling lol
Russia is actually a country I’m considering studying my PhD in, I’ve been told staying in Canada isn’t my best option and I should go overseas. Hopefully the war will have fizzled out by that point.
It’s incredibly unfortunate and I can’t figure out which scenario is easier to remedy…
Yeah I went back to read it, no veto. So that just confuses me more because what’s stopping the “international community” from enforcing anything to stop this damned embargo?
There was more than the Emu war?
I honestly thought the rapid rise of the far right was only really happening in Europe and North America, how naive I was.
Canada wants to go back to how its military behaved before the Geneva convention.
