Looks like the headset she's wearing in that video (EPOC X - 14 channel EEG headset) is available from Emotiv for $1k, and the software she's using to map controls (EmotivBCI) is something they provide for free. They have 2 and 5 channel headsets for cheaper and 32 channel caps that are more expensive. Seems pretty consumer-ready to me, but I'm sure your EEG activity data gets shared with Emotiv, which isn't ideal.
Commenting to remind myself later because I'd love to check into this. My hands are achy from years of overuse, so an alternative to physical controls would be amazing.
Bought a Win 11 laptop recently (it's now a linux device), and on first boot up there was no way to gracefully decline using a Microsoft account to sign in. Luckily, I was in a hotel and couldn't connect to the wifi without going through a login page, so the lack of internet connection allowed me to set up a local account. In any case, if you're forced to log in with an MS account, OneDrive starts syncing right away. You can disable it, but maybe not before it's already done some damage.
Don't forget Meatball Ron while we're at it.
Or a debit card...
Yeah, I love the game, but I'll absolutely admit it was released too early. The simulation is broken in multiple ways, but it appears to be fixable as evidenced by progress in patches and some mods as well. Then again, personally, I'm glad I have the opportunity to play it now rather than waiting another year, even in the state it's in. The cities I've been building are very satisfying, and like you said the road tools are a dream.
I was in the same boat as you about 5 years ago - I had been stubbornly using iTunes, but it was so slow and the store was just an annoyance, it was getting in the way of me actually listening to my music. I ended up choosing MusicBee over Winamp or foobar2000 because it has all the library management stuff (even a sync to mobile device function) and a great interface right out of the box.
There's a vast political center in the post-industrial east, northeast and midwest willing to be pursuaded. The Democrats have certainly attempted to do the right thing for the climate... sort of... but have utterly failed to consider the effects on industrial communities as the industry leaves. Then they add insult to injury by saying things like "learn to code"... but then not doing anything about the spiraling cost of education. This has been going on for decades, and the result is generations of impoverished people losing trust in the political process and falling victim to narratives of fear and hate.
Understanding this is step zero in beginning to steer this ship left again.
It's really not that bad. I run it with the settings maxed at 1440p. I'm guessing my framerate hovers around 30, both above and below.
R9 3900x & 3070ti - my machine is above average but nothing crazy.
Depends to what extent the state can be said to truly represent the workers.
