That's wild, I was sure the most popular podcasts on Spotify were Trueanon, the Deprogram, Citations Needed and Trillbillies.

I'd actually love to hear Harris on any of these other than Citations Needed (I think Adam and Nima would be too soft).

Damn you post this dumb thing a lot.

A 2018 year-in-review and prospective on fact-checking from the Poynter Institute (which develops PolitiFact[25]) noted a proliferation of credibility score projects, including Media/Bias Fact Check, writing that "While these projects are, in theory, a good addition to the efforts combating misinformation, they have the potential to misfire," and stating that "Media Bias/Fact Check is a widely cited source for news stories and even studies about misinformation, despite the fact that its method is in no way scientific."[26] Also in 2018, a writer in the Columbia Journalism Review described Media Bias/Fact Check as "an armchair media analysis"[27] and characterized their assessments as "subjective assessments [that] leave room for human biases, or even simple inconsistencies, to creep in".[28]

Wow that's pretty damning, almost makes it seem like someone using this to shut down conversations by claiming media outlets are unreliable could be acting in bad faith. Like some kind of pro-Western, pro-Israel ideologue.

Lmao, I just started listening to this and they immediately compare it to legalizing heroin and giving control of the heroin industry to tobacco companies, with the implication that that would obviously be incredibly bad.

Turns out half the people in this thread think that that's a great idea actually.

Apparently 64% of their users are 18-29, so there are actually a good amount of zoomers on there.

In my experience the more I've gotten paid the less stressful my job has been.

My pay was worst when my job was taking emotional abuse from the consumer public while working in a hot kitchen where I got burned a lot.

It improved when my job became taking emotional abuse from the consumer public in an air-conditioned setting.

It improved a lot more when I lucked into a promotion where I touch spreadsheets and send out emails about the spreadsheets and nobody screams at me anymore.

Google, I'm just trying to find a out if my new blood pressure meds are going to put me into a coma after my wife and I took 2.5 shots and then she said "Uh hey, TheLepidopterists, is this okay on ?"

I do not need rehab clinic websites with articles about "what do I do if I can't quit heavily drinking on " I just want to know if literally any drinking is extremely dangerous. Had to ask my doctor directly to find out that it was fine as long as I wasn't drinking daily or bingeing. Spent the week in panic.

Just wanted to say thanks to whoever it is who posted a quote C-SPAM in here a few days ago, outside of Hexbear it's the best takes I've seen on this genocide.

Also a DTI/DTA based discussion space that isn't in a reddit/Lemmy format is nice to have.
