There's literally no reason for this lmao. These two could easily pass for like 25. Why do they insist on giving them canon ages under 18? Theres no story reason for it. Theres no reason for it with how they look? What is going on.

The little girl thing is Maria. The transphobia is the fact that there are signs that Vivian from Thousand Year Door will be translated from the original "correctly", ie she will be canonically trans. Which INCLUDES her struggling with transphobia directyed at her from her sisters.

East of Eden is my favorite "book for school" ever.

Simpsons books are a funny story. I wasnt allowed to watch it as a kid. But the Guide to Life came into my possesion via my stepsister. But i lost it at some point.

The episode guide i got for Christmas from the same mom who didnt let me watch??? I read and reread it so thoroughly that it fell apart lol.

Both are very nostalgia for me.

Found a thread on Twitter with a bunch of people saying they thought it was famous actresses like J Law and Shailene Woodley and thought I'd share my special interest knowledge.

Listen, this user is a terminally online anarchist who complains about tankies and calls Stalin genocidal. But shes correct about this one. Mostly. I mean using the term "bedtime abolition" sounds dumb but Im pretty sure she only did that because its a common joke about anarchists. The core point is about how 9-5 work schedules dont work for everyone. As an ND person who struggles with culturally normal sleep schedules, I absolutely agree that society needs to accomodate these things. I absolutely agree that its literally normal talk everyone says that work schedules suck.

People saying "just go to bed on time" or "just pop a melatonin" have never been in the position of trying to do that and failing, just laying awake for hours until you finally fall asleep two hours before you need to be up.

I actually dont know if this is a torment nexus situation i havent read the book or seen the movie lol. But people are making that joke!

People are pointing out that people are reacting to this like people react to "Who's afraid of Red, Yellow, and Blue" which to them proves that its subversive art.

And honestly... i cant deny they sort of have a point?

I realize im risking starting a struggle session here lol i just find the thought so fascinating.

I guess the art is in the trolling though, not the AI.

They really said "hmm... the Dems have been pretty mask off lately, how can we be worse?"

Also the implication here is that those entertainers didnt face discrimination and had an easy time making their way in that field.

Finland might have good social programs but its actually fairly known for being an especially racist place.

Liberals dismantled those colonial empires.

This is the same argument as "but whites also FREED the slaves" and "but men also GAVE the women the vote".

Eh, I'll always lean towards giving someone who's totally new to the community a chance to learn and grow before assuming they're coming in bad faith. There's a lot of propaganda out there. I used to think the USSR was "abhorrent" too. Most westerners do. We all start somewhere. I'd have given the new poster a chance to learn before assuming bad faith.

Someone here admitted that it was them.

We can can care about more than one thing at a time lol. Do you also think black people should just "get over" the n word because global warming exists? Or gay people with the f slur? Do you think that women should stop complaining about sexual harassment in the workplace because global warming exists? Those are often "just words" after all. I care deeply about global warming and want to do things about it, probably more than you do, but that doesn't mean I have to be ok with words meant to insult and attack me and people like me.

Idk if this rhetoric will work with you because you probably do think those things, at least about the slurs.

Language evolves. "Mental removedation" is not longer recognized as as medical term, its use in modern times is generally regarded as a slur by the disability community and is treated as such in pretty much all communities that actively try to include neurodiverse people are oppose ableism.

So to answer the question of "ince wshen". The answer is "for at least a couple decades now". I was actually hit by my friend with a severely disabled brother for using it back in like 2006.

I am active in the disability rights movement and pretty much all of us that are agree the word is a slur and there is no excuse to be using it. Its not a "word for mental capacity" anymore and hasn't been in a long time. Plus, insinuating that mental disability is a BAD thing is ableist on its face.
