So. Heihehachi is back. HIs fans are very happy, most of them anyway. Thing is, I'm one of his fans. He's one of my favorite fighting game charachters. But the thing is, Tekken 7 was supposed to be the fucking END. Thats what we were told, "the Mishima story is over, he's dead now, for real this time".

WE never should have believed it lol. But here's the thing. IT didnt have to be this way.

Fighting game designers are scared to kill off charachters becuase people main them and want them to be in each game. OK, cool. Here's the thing, bringing back a character does not mean they have to be part of the plot lol. You can just... have them be playable? But their prescence is totally extra canonical?

Thats what i wanted to happen with Heihehachi in this game. But no like. They couldn't do it. They HAD to bring him back "in story". Stupid.

They did the same thing with M Bison in SF6 this season but at least there's sort of a new twist on how they're doing it and at least I wasnt told that it was DEFINITLY the end of that charachter lol. For that one I'm just annoyed because there's a ton of characters id rather be brought back (Dudley, Makoto, Poison, Menat, Alex, C Viper, Laura, Ibuki, Yun, Yang, Sagat, Vega, and Balrog all come to mind. Also Skullomania if they can get the rights). But its fine overall there.

That is until Mia Khalifa becomes president in 2028

Seriously like. Even the absolute worst dubious, unproven accusations of what the DPRK's "Crimes" are pale in comparison to what the US and allies did to them. And thats just their crimes against Korea.

The consequences of federation.

We criticize liberalism from the left though. I understand that you're not used to that but liberalism is not actually the leftmost part of the political spectrum. Its also worth noting that when we say "liberalism" we include both what you understand to be "liberals" and "conservatives" because thats what the word originally meant. It just meant "supporter of capitalism". We have significant issues with the Democratic Party (and the equivalent parties in other first world nations) though and don't pretend otherwise, but all those criticisms are coming from Marxist perspectives.

I'm not even going to get into it with the "pro fascism" part because I know this is almost certainly based on a misunderstanding of what fascism. Hexbear is explicitly anti-fascist, as are all communists except those weirdo MAGA communists of which there are like 10.

[-] autismdragon@hexbear.net 46 points 2 years ago

The way "tankie" is used today it just means communist who has actually read communist theory and understands the nature of imperialism and applies it correctly to the current geopolitical situation in the world.

Solipsism and paranoia win the day in your brain yet again. People can't possibly earnestly have these opinions, because I'm not used to them, must be bots. Doesnt matter that they have three years of post history where they talk about innocuous stuff that has nothing to do with Russia and china. Thats just part of the act. And the fact that you think the pronoun tags make it MORE likely that we're bots is even more laughable.

Its really fucking depressing seeing how effective the "bot" propaganda has been.

[-] autismdragon@hexbear.net 45 points 2 years ago

The weirder thing is is that I checked their post history and they said they're conservative, though based on their fear of Russian memes I'm guessing a Never Trumper? Weird.

Are the bots in the room with us right now?

I was hesitant about federation at first but this is great.
