The post says that Yugopnik will be responding to questions posted in the thread on his official twitch stream on April 26. It looks like the leftpol thread is made by a leftypol moderator.

It's confirmed by his twitter account.

I don't think it's photoshopped. Probably more of a photo op. Bukele controls the prison. It's much easier to put down some props and take a photo than it would be to doctor the photo. The margarita glasses in the photo are separate from the water glasses. The Van Hollen photo has 3 glasses. The Bukele photo has 5 glasses. You can see that they have a different color liquid inside. A simple margarita is tequila, triple sec, and lime juice; it doesn't have to be blended with ice. Or it could just be water with food coloring added to a prop glass.

I also viewed the image with an error analyzing software. Adding a new object in photoshop would create new jpeg artifacts around the object. Also the lightning of the the glasses would be very different than the lightning of the photo. If it was a photoshop. then it would be a very, very advanced photoshop. It's 1000x easier for Bukele to order his stooges "Put some margaritas on the table so that dumb Americans think the prison is like a vacation."

spoilerThis is a satirical post. Matt Christman is saying something that a pundit would say to make fun of how out-of-touch pundits are.

Simple explanation is that that the bitly link redirect expired and someone made it redirect to a different website.

IGN (Imagine Games Network) is a video game news website. Their whole website is about video game news. They don't post "real issues". It's a video game website.

A court-supervised auction concluded on Wednesday. The Connecticut families said they agreed to forgo some payment from the defamation judgments to boost the Onion's bid and prevent other right-wing content creators from continuing to broadcast conspiracy theories on Infowars.

"The world needs to see that having a platform does not mean you are above accountability," said Robbie Parker, whose daughter Emilie was killed in the Sandy Hook shooting. "The dissolution of Alex Jones' assets and the death of Infowars is the justice we have long awaited and fought for."

The second-highest bid was submitted by First United American Companies, which is associated with Jones, according to court documents.

"They're shutting us down," Jones said on social media site X. "I'm going to be here until they come in here and turn the lights off."

First United American Companies, which bid $3.5 million in cash for Infowars, objected to the way the auction was handled, saying it wasn't given an opportunity to beat the Onion's winning bid.

https://www.reuters.com/world/us/parody-website-onion-buys-alex-jones-infowars-out-bankruptcy-court-documents-2024-11-14/

The Sandy Hook families wanted The Onion to have the website so that right wing news companies could not buy it. Maybe it's more important to the Sandy Hook families that there are less victims of right wing extremists than the money that they spent. It's not likely that The Onion is going to retain Infowars customers as The Onion customers.

Alex Jones is still required to pay the Sandy Hook families over $1 billion dollars. Alex Jones tried to buy Infowars for $3.5 million, he was the second highest bidder. So the price payed for Infowars is some amount over $3.5 million. Alex Jones still owes the rest of the money.

You are misunderstanding. You are inserting yourself into the scenario and trying to make decisions as if you are the victim. The Sandy Hook families probably already liked The Onion. If they wanted to buy Infowars themselves and gift it to a joke company, then good for them. The Sandy Hook families believe that it is justice for the website to be made into a joke.

Alex Jones has been posting on twitter all day that the Infowars auction was fraudulent and that he's a victim for not being able to buy the website.

What would be a worse scenario: "Sandy Hook families buy Infowars and gift it to The Onion as a joke" or "Alex Jones buys Infowars from the Sandy Hook families and continues to harass the families of school shooting victims"?

I don't think anyone believes that this stunt was meant to appeal to service workers. If you watch the stream, Trump interacts with people as if he is walking around a zoo. It's poverty tourism. The stunt is meant to appeal to people who enjoy poverty tourism. The stunt is meant to normalize treating service workers as if they are not humans. This is what appeals to many Americans.

Every time that the thread topic topic is changed, more small chatter starts to happen and it buries the visibility of every other news story of the week.

I've watched Hasan for around 4 years. He used to not run ads at all. Then Amazon forced him to start running ads. He told people to use ad blockers. Amazon told him that he wasn't allowed to say ad blocker. Then Amazon forces him to run 3 minutes of ads per hour instead of 1 minute per hour. Hasan is contracted by Amazon and Amazon controls certain aspects of the stream. Amazon also takes a huge portion of the money that Hasan receives.

However, Hasan can't change platforms because he would lose his whole audience. If you had a channel on twitch and you decided that you wanted to stream in a different way, you would also lose the majority of your audience. You can't self host a stream; we don't live in the 2000s anymore; most people don't want to make an account on a self hosted website; the internet is centralized now. If you moved your channel to youtube or other corporate owned site, you would just have a different corporation trying to squeeze profits out of you and still lose half your audience in the switch. So Hasan has to stay with twitch and twitch forces him to do certain things because as like every other employers, they want to extract surplus value.

Also, he allows his fans to monetize clips from his twitch stream on youtube. He has an official youtube channel which is run by his editors and he has said that all of the money from the youtube channel goes to those editors. Then there's like 50+ other channels which are fan run youtube channels, which get payed just for uploading editted clips from his stream. Youtube has tried to take down his fan channels several times and Hasan has gone out of his way to keep his fan's channels up so that his fans could make money from reuploading clips of his stream.

Complaining that Hasan gets payed money for being a journalist and news commentator is a real "you complain about capitalism and yet you exist" moment. He provides good news coverage. I've never given him money. I don't have a twitch account. I block ads. Watching the stream is free.

I've posted on Hexbear that I think Hasan has good news coverage since I joined hexbear 3 years ago. People told me that he wasn't a real Marxist, that he had bad opinions, or that they prefer to watch some fringe weirdos on tik tok who said Hasan is bad. They never actually watched his streams because even as far back as 2018-2019 Hasan was openly speaking in favor of Marxism. He went on chapo is 2019. From 2020-2021, he would still talk about Marxism but with more vague terminology because he was trying (and succeeding) at converting liberals into being Marxist. Lately he's again openly telling people that he's a Marxist and his audience has been shrinking because of it. Telling people that you're a Marxist doesn't make money, if his intention was to maximize his money, why is he telling people he's a Marxist now?

Before the Oct 7 Al-Aqsa Flood, Hasan was averaging 30k-40k live viewers. His average live viewership is now around 20k. Since doing coverage on the war in Gaza in support of Palestinians, calling for a ceasefire, for the past 4 months, Hasan has lost nearly half of his live viewers. He went from being a top 10 streamer on twitch to rank #30. If Hasan's purpose was "monetizing parasociality", why would he spend the last 4 months doing coverage in support of Palestinians which lost almost half of his live audience? Hasan's news coverage is a reflection of the correct Marxist perspective, even when it loses viewers. Calling for a ceasefire in Gaza loses viewers but Hasan does it anyway because it is the right thing to do.

I once bought a 2014 era thinkpad laptop that was locked with a supervisor password and I was able to remove it by using tweezers to short 2 pins on the password chip.

  1. I located the password chip on the motherboard. I think it was an 8 pin chip.
  2. I press tweezers to 2 pins. I don't remember which pin this was. I think it was gnd to something else. The intention here was to make the chip unreadable.
  3. I enter the bios and navigate to the screen for setting a supervisor password. Because the motherboard could not read the chip, the mother board thinks that there is no password.
  4. When I have the "set advisor password prompt" open, I removed the pin short. I typed a new password and press accept. The bios overwrites the old password on the chip.
  5. Reboot the machine and remove the password by typing the password that you created.
