This satire is pretty close to the truth honestly. Right now, Xi is meeting with Putin in Moscow to discuss trade between Russia and China.

For the first trade talks between US and China, Vice Premier He Lifeng is meeting with U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent during his visit to Switzerland from May 9 to 12. China is saying that this was requested by the US and China is reluctantly complying. Trump lied about talking with Xi.

The US economy is cooked.

The hacker leaked the whole website source code. I figure they have at the very least made a new server install and run updates. It's been 10 days since it went down.

Anyone could read the website leaked php to look for new exploits if they are still using the same code base.

The 4chan admins made a post on twitter alluding that it would come back. The thing is that the whole website source code got leaked, so they have to do like a heavy security audit or complete rewrite before they come back. The website was relying heavily on "security through obscurity" which is generally a bad practice. Unfortunately, I think they are trying to come back online.

https://knowyourmeme.com/sensitive/memes/chad

In my memory, the origin of "Chad" was popularized from the /r9k/ board on 4chan. /r9k/ was a board on 4chan which had mainly one rule which said that no two posts were allowed to have the same text or image. 4channers who posted on the board, referring to themselves a robots, would use the board as like a blog. It soon became a place where socially awkward 4channers would complain about their lives. The characters "Chad" and "Stacy" were made by r9k users to make fun of normal people who they called "normies". The way that people use the term Chad now is to mean a badass guy. It's the same meaning in both, but on r9k, "Chad" was derogatory, but now in culture, it is a positive term.

Reddit didn't invent incels. Reddit is just a place where people gather.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4chan#/r9k/

According to wikipedia, the r9k board was a gathering place of the incel community.

It kind of proves my point that 4chan culture has assimilated into mainstream culture and people don't even know it.

If this post is referring to Ryan Grim and Jeremey Scahill like I suspect. They don't work for the intercept anymore. They quit and started their own website called Drop Site News.

You're asking the wrong question. VPNs are cool and all, it won't really protect your communication, especially not from a government actor. A VPN can sort of trick a website into thinking you are at a different location and in some ways can mask what you are doing from your ISP. It won't protect you from the government.

What you want is GPG encryption of your communications. GPG can be used in 2 main ways, you can encrypt files/text or you can sign files/text. Each person has a private key and a public key. In the case where you encrypt a message, you would take the public key of the person that you want to receive the message to encrypt the message and then the encrypted message can only be decrypted by the recipients private key. In the case where you sign a message, you use your private key to generate a "signature" string and then other people can take your public key and the signature to confirm that you wrote the message that you signed.

You can set this up with an email client like Thunderbird (equivalent to firefox).

Even at the height of the pandemic, only like 50% of people in NC would even wear masks. Chuds here would refuse to wear masks as a political signifier. Some chuds would even wear thin fake masks that would look like a mask but not prevent covid transmission. Anyone who wore a mask was treated as a social outcast and sometimes even accosted by random chuds. Laws like this are going to encourage even more violence against protestors and anyone with enough common sense to wear a mask.

NC is mostly reactionaries and fundamentalist Christians who love Israel because they think Israel will bring the rapture. The very few university protests in support of Palestine protests have already been attacked by police and counter protestors.

As a history example of how NC as treated open communists, in 1979, the CWP Communist Workers Party held an anti Ku Klux Klan rally in Greensboro. The Klan showed up and murdered 5 CWP members. The 8 suspected Klan members were acquitted of all charges in 1984, faced no consequences. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greensboro_massacre

Here is some local news coverage from the past month.

In 2023, Rob Schneider produced an "antiwoke" stand up special for Fox News called "Woke Up in America". I watched it because it seemed very silly that a standup comedy special was made for Fox News. It was the worst standup comedy show that I've ever seen.

Rob Schneider has been right wing for a while. I remember seeing a clip of him making fun of homeless people on Fox News as a commentator for Fox news.

This is just twitter engagement bait. Is there evidence that this is a trend other than 1 video posted by a self proclaimed "influencer" by the name "Champagne Sloshy"?

There's always a few weirdos practicing bloodletting. I'm skeptical that it is trend.

Hasan has been saying get nukes for a few years now. I'm not really sure who said it first.

I will give Brace the "never get in a helicopter" rule.

The intended purpose of public schooling is to prepare children for a job ie sell their labor to a capitalist. It's not some sort of secret; every public school will tell you this. Public grade school is designed to simulate working at a job. Public school teachers simulate the management of a job.

School teachers are not bourgeois.

I watched a few different videos from the scene to try to figure out what they are standing in front of. The audio is messed up on all the different video angles and it's raining. Fox News and Dailymail say that the object is a baby crib.

I found a transcript here : https://news.yahoo.com/elon-musk-tours-attacked-kibbutz-123203470.html

The bald IDF guy on the left while describing what they are looking at, says "It's a symbol in kibbutz. We have kids inside. The mothers and the fathers went around this way. But it's holding shells-- specifically of a Negev-- that was used here in order to protect the people." Negev is an IDF machine gun.

For weeks now the IDF has been showing us manufactured videos of military equipment placed inside the bedrooms of children in Gaza. Making claims that this is evidence that Hamas is putting children in danger.

Today we have a video of the IDF displaying the crib of an Israeli child and inside the crib is Israeli bullet shells from an Israeli weapon. The IDF tells us that this is a symbol of mothers and fathers protecting their children. This is new levels of IDF propaganda.
