I don't like playing word games. I'm just trying to post things that I think are interesting. The word"middle east" is a word that I inserted for context.

The exact Trump quote was "The plan we haven't talked about but we're not planning on stopping in Israel but we will be doing it at some point but not for this trip". If I just posted this quote, you wouldn't know what it meant.

This may be the video related.

Reporter says "You said that the Houthis are backing down. We're seeing conflicting reports that the Houthis are continuing to attack Israel in support of Gaza. Does that change the equation?"

Trump says "I don't know about that but I do know that they want nothing to do with us."

The other information that I am inferring is that Ansarallah is possibly still going to attack commercial ships traveling to Israeli ports. Ansarallah had previously declared a trade blockade on Israel and more recently an air blockade. Ansarallah is agreeing specifically not to attack the US military, except for self defense.

What I wonder is how the US military will respond if Ansarallah again attacks a commercial ship bound for Israel. Is the US saying that it will no longer protect commercial ships? Or is Trump setting up a trick scenario where the US will reopen attacks on Yemen when Ansarallah continues their blockade on Israel?

"No Israeli ship will reach any port until the siege is lifted and the aggression on Gaza ends"

That quote is saying that Ansarallah is not agreeing to stop attacks on Israeli-related ships. It is different from Ansarallah agreeing to stop attacking US military.

[-] dead@hexbear.net 16 points 2 days ago

Trump in the press conference says that there was no official communications with Ansarallah. He said that he believed that Ansarallah made a statement that they would stop attacking the US if the US stopped attacking them. I think Trump is doing a strong arm and hoping they play along.

A statement from Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, says the US halt of “aggression” against Yemen will be evaluated. "Trump's announcement of a halt to America's aggression against Yemen will be evaluated on the ground first. It is a victory that separates American support for the temporary entity from a failure for Netanyahu, and he must resign."

https://www.aljazeera.com/news/liveblog/2025/5/6/live-israel-attacks-yemen-lebanon-syria-and-gaza-in-one-day?update=3691617

Mohammed al-Bukhaiti says "As for our attacks on the US, they fall within the context of the right to self-defense. If it halts its attacks on us, we will halt our attacks on it. This position also applies to Britain."

https://xcancel.com/TheMediaOfficee/status/1919810922052215208

I think the important distinction is that Ansarallah is agreeing to not attack US Military. They are still open to attacking ships linked to Israel as long as Israel continues the genocide in Gaza.

China is responding to the videos that the CIA posted on twitter on May 1. The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs press conference had been closed since April 30 for Labor Day holiday break.

China had previously criticized the CIA for attempting to recruit Chinese official on October 28 2024. The CIA had posted a powerpoint slideshow encouraging Chinese Officials to become spies for the US. The more recent 2 videos are live action propaganda films, which depict Chinese officials as living luxurious lives.

October 28 2024 https://www.fmprc.gov.cn/eng/xw/fyrbt/lxjzh/202412/t20241217_11495678.html

Global Times: The Wall Street Journal recently reported that Western countries believe that China is conducting espionage activities on an “unprecedented scale” to undermine rival states and bolster the country’s economy and that Western spy agencies are unable to contain Beijing’s activity. Does China have a response to that?

Lin Jian: I don’t know what factual basis this report has. For some time, a very few Western media outlets have been peddling disinformation on so-called espionage activities by China, but they presented no facts or evidence apart from some assumptions and speculations. Yet, I noted that the CIA recently posted on social media instructions in Chinese on how to contact it online, in an attempt to lure Chinese personnel to be their informant. This seriously infringes on China’s national interest. China strongly protests this. We will resolutely crack down on infiltration and sabotage activities by anti-China forces outside China and defend national sovereignty, security and development interest.

The CIA has long been using all kinds of despicable methods to steal other countries’ secrets, interfere in their internal affairs and commit subversion. The US has never stopped its espionage activities against China. It has also long been conducting massive surveillance and secret theft against its allies. The US on the one hand blatantly carries out spying activities worldwide, yet on the other makes unwarranted accusation of spying threat against other countries. This is a clear misrepresentation of the facts.

The US needs to immediately correct its wrongdoing, stop its tricks of framing others, and stop creating more chaos and turbulence in the world.

I'm interpreting this to be a "mask off" moment. It was a very obvious mask. Israel clearly always wanted to settle in Gaza. Israel was saying things such as "Israel has a right to defend itself" and claiming that they were only targeting Hamas.

The reason that they are probably going mask off now is because Israel has blocked food to Gaza for the last 65-ish days. Israel is using starvation as a weapon. They are making the calculation that mass starvation has created the opportunity to permanently occupy Gaza and expel all of the Gaza population.

This is the article posted by DPRK. It has 6 photos of Kim inspecting a tank. KCNA.kp is an official website hosted in DPRK. The website posts new articles usually at 6-7 PM Eastern Time Zone.

I check it almost every day and post when they are interesting to me, which I guess is sort of arbitrary.

Thought this photo was pretty neat. It shows all the builders of their new warship standing beside it, to show the size.

http://kcna.kp/en/article/q/4d748e6942ec6d3f92dde50df616ad6e.kcmsf

This article shows photos of testing the new missile system on their massive new warship.

Another interesting this is that the KCNA website actually runs on RedStarOS. If you inspect the website's HTTP header in your browser, it tells you that kcna.kp runs on "Server: Apache/2.4.25 (RedStar4.0) OpenSSL/1.0.1e-fips PHP/5.6.2".

This might be the most "orphan-crushing machine" article that I've ever read. At a time when the people of Gaza are on the brink of mass starvation. The latest Israel blockade on Gaza aid started on March 2, over 2 months ago. It says that the Vatican has given aid to Gaza in the past through an organization called Caritas Jerusalem. The pope giving his old car to Gaza seems cartoonish, at a peak moment in the genocide. It feels symbolic at best.

It's exactly like one of the articles which says like "6 year old sells lemonade to pay for their cancer treatment". It leaves you asking the question, "Why are we ignoring who created this situation? Why are they not being held accountable?"

This is the image that Trump is talking about. Trump insists that the letters are not photoshopped.

https://www.mediaite.com/tv/trump-argues-with-abcs-terry-moran-about-photoshopped-image-he-had-ms-13-on-his-knuckles-tattooed/

Video transcript

Trump: Wait a minute, he had “MS-13” on his knuckles tattooed!

Moran: He had some tattoos that are interpreted that way, but let’s move on.

Trump: Wait a minute. Hey, Terry. Terry. Terry. Don’t do that.

Moran: He did not have the letter “MS-13.”

Trump: It says “MS-13.”

Moran: That was photoshopped.

Trump: That was photoshopped? Terry, you can’t do that. They’ve given you the big break of a lifetime. You know, you’re doing the interview. I picked you because, frankly, I had never heard of you, but that’s okay. But I picked you, Terry, but you’re not being very nice. He had “MS-13” tattooed. Terry. Terry. Do you want me to show you the picture?

Moran: I saw the picture.

Trump: And you think it was photoshopped? Well, don’t photoshop it, go look at his hand. He had “MS-13.”

Moran: He did have tattoos that can be interpreted that way. I’m not an expert on them.

The video is only 2 minutes, worth watching.

On Friday, Trump had claimed that he spoke with Xi over the phone.

https://www.mfa.gov.cn/eng/xw/fyrbt/lxjzh/202504/t20250428_11606273.html

Phoenix TV: It was reported that President Trump said at a TIME interview on April 22 that President Xi Jinping “has called.” What is China’s comment? Is there ongoing talks between China and the U.S.?

Guo Jiakun: As far as I know, there have not been any calls between the two presidents recently.

Let me make it clear one more time that China and the U.S. are not engaged in any consultation or negotiation on tariffs.

AFP: The U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent in a television interview on Sunday suggested that China might be denying ongoing talks between the U.S. and China on tariffs because China is “playing to a different audience,” but that there’s a path forward. So would the Foreign Ministry like to respond to Mr. Bessent’s assessment of the situation?

Guo Jiakun: China’s position on the tariff war is abundantly clear. Tariff and trade wars have no winners. If a negotiated solution is truly what the U.S. wants, it should stop threatening and blackmailing China, and seek dialogue based on equality, respect and mutual benefit.

AFP: Can the Foreign Ministry share any details about Wang Yi’s trip to Brazil for the BRICS meeting, including any deals that he hopes to land with other countries on how to respond to tariff tensions?

Guo Jiakun: China previously shared Foreign Minister Wang Yi’s attendance at the Meeting of BRICS Ministers of Foreign Affairs / International Relations and other relevant meetings. Readouts on Foreign Minister Wang Yi’s activities in Brazil will be released in due course. Please stay tuned.
