Whatever gets Americans to demand more trains.
An American who spent time stationed in Kenya (they never could tell me why we have a base there, go figure) told me about a group of navy seals that decided to try to put a t-shirt on a baboon once. Apparently they all ended up in the infirmary.
America isn't sending the brightest.
Oh, this 100% happens. I've been getting texts and calls fopre-approval about 6 different area codes since applying for preapproval.
Was thinking the same thing! Too lazy to figure out what it is specifically right now though
That's awesome! I checked out dreaming spanish a while back and had some decent progress for a bit. Unfortunately broke the habit because of life stuff and kind of just forgot about it. I agree the beginning is definitely a slog, but you have to start somewhere
Your progress is very encouraging to hear about, guess I'll get back to it. Thanks for the details.
No recommendations, just pure jealousy. Bet it will be an awesome trip!
Any recommendations for studying Spanish? That seems like a fast pace to get to that level of fluency.
This really can't be overstated. Joining my first local meeting was incredibly validating and felt like it breathed life back into me.
I've seen this in comments a lot but never a source, do you happen to have one?
Going from book 3 to 4 is a fun and wild jump, although I don't recall reading much past 4 if at all. Might be time for a re-read, haven't read past book 2 since high school.
How is the series after book 4?
I feel ya. I was at least getting some callbacks this time last year but haven't heard much since July from any employers. Tried different resume formats, cover letters, lying about more experience, but nada.
Anothet weird thing is that my employer has complained for at least 5 years that hiring engineers and devs is so difficult, yet we keep seeing all these layoffs in tech. Maybe pay people better? Idk it isn't hard to ask the workers why their industry colleagues don't want to work for you even when they have few other choices.
Didnt mean to bring you down, just needed to commiserate a bit. Good luck on your job hunt comrade
I always thought debates took 2 sides. Hmmm
I'm too lazy to look for any of their documentation about this, but it would be pretty bold to believe privacy or processing claims from OpenAI or similar AI orgs, given their history flouting copyright.
Silicon valley more generally just breaks laws and regulations to "disrupt". Why wouldn't an org like OpenAI at least leave a backdoor for themselves to process API requests down the road as a policy change? Not that they would need to, but it's not uncommon for a co to leave an escape hatch in their policies.
