I think the basic reasoning is some form of:

"If you support Palestina, you are against Israel. And you can't be against Israel, because then you are an anti-semite and that means you support Hitler."

It's mainly prevelant in western countries that historically support Israel. I do think a big part of that is some historical shame/feeling the Jewish people are owed something, given the genocide they had to endure in WW2. And of course a touch of geopolitics. And right wing politicians using Israel as a way to position themselves (I guess they hate Muslims more than Jews?).

The name of the function, what goes in and what goes out in most cases should be enough to get a good idea on what the function does.

It also helps to make a diagram of how everything ties together. Just boxes and arrows is enough.

When writing your own code, it takes a bit of experience to know when to put something in its own function. It's very obvious when you're replicating code. It's also very common to cut things up when a function gets too big. Look for bits of functionality that you can give a good name.

Pretty standard sink in my neck of the woods. The part on the right has ridges and drains to the sink, so you can use it to put e.g. washed veggies or let dishes dry.

Definitely dead here.

Ocean cleanup is also working on systems to prevent plastic from leaving rivers and flowing into the oceans.

That's very broad. Do you mean by some force outside our universe, or actors inside, possibly on earth?

A DSLR doesn't fit in your pocket... I'm really happy with my Pixel 6a camera. The night shot mode is really nice. Sure, I can get better shots with my mirrorless and a tripod, but I'm not gonna carry those with me all day (I hardly bring my mirrorless, let alone the tripod).

I haven't explored other camera apps. I assume they haven't implemented all the software magic that's running on that Tensor chip?

Consumer mindset and thinking of people first and foremost is brought to you by capitalism.

We're not consumers, we're people. Social animals that enjoy living in groups. Owning shit isn't something that makes us inherently happy. Just look at how other apes live. Just think about the things that make you happy.

Endless consumption is a blight. It's killing our habitat. It's killing us.

This part made me genuinely tear up.

In principle it is bicycle only. The round blue sign with the bicycle in it makes it a bicycle path where cars are not allowed. Certain mopeds (ones that go less than 30km/h) are normally allowed, but the sign under the round one bans them as well.

Maybe some car traffic is allowed for e.g. deliveries during certain timeslots (that could be the times under the bicycle sign, but it's hard to read). I've worked in this area when it was under construction and in that time it was also already bicycle only. Google Maps also shows it as such.

The no-stopping sign indeed is odd if it was bicycle only, as afaik this sign doesn't apply to cyclists. There is also a separate sign indiciating this is a no-parking zone for cyclists (this is the station area, where it is common to only allow bicycle parking in designated areas, such as one of the biggest bicycle parking garages a bit further down this path and then to the left).

The lack of bollards is not odd. This is a common trend seen in other Dutch cities. E.g. Amsterdam has also removed a lot. It makes it safer for cyclists and generally car drivers are welbehaved enough to not use the bicycle paths.

Anyway, definitely not a car street. It's definitely a bicycle path with maybe some exceptions for cars. Curious to know if someone can take a look at that sign, I unfortunately do not visit Utrecht regularly anymore.

Everything has its place. Before I buy something, I figure out where it needs to go. Preferably I get rid of stuff before I get something new, so I don't accumulate too much.

When smart watches came about I thought it would be cool to be able to look at your watch when a notification comes in. Never ended up buying one and when I see how some people behave, I'm glad I never did. Some people will just glance mid conversation at their smart watch, which imo is just as bad as grabbing your phone mid conversation.

I'm happy with my cheap Casio. Looks heaps better too.
