Too bad, that long-term users still kind of decide the fate of the company (as shareholders at some point realize that their share probably is not worth it).

Yeah, that's really the kicker, isn't it? Legally beholden to the shareholders who demand short term profits forever and ever, risking the loss of long-term customers.

It's a guaranteed death.

My household usage is well over 2TB/mo. It's not unrealistic to expect individual usage to be fairly high outside of the house.

Because they can. I have the same gripe.

The env variable is within the compose file itself - it's fairly simple.

Oh I love this stuff.

My dishwasher pulls over 1000W, but overall actual usage pales in comparison to my server cluster, which utilizes a multiple 35W mini PCs.

I started measuring a bunch of things in February (using zigbee-compatible smart plugs to HA), so here is a graph of the above for the entire month of March:

It was eye opening, to say the least.

People complaining about this video have clearly not watched much Technology Connections; I enjoyed it immensely. It's right in line with how Alec normally does his videos. We who are loyal to the Great Alec expect the pedantic content.

This shit is why I buy carrier agnostic, bootloader-unlockable phones with a healthy ROM dev scene. Rocking a Pixel 9 Pro XL, currently on stock ROM (rooted of course), but will be moving to Calyx or Graphene at some point.

I feel you on the "social development" part. I was recently diagnosed with ADHD and it helped explain quite a bit about myself. Most men around my age in my area are the stereotypical "sportsball/golf/hunting/jesus" type, none of which I relate to in the slightest, so it's difficult for me to make friends. I'm very much a homebody and tinkerer, and have at least 3 different projects going at any given time (cars/motorcycles, computers, guitars, hobby kits, etc). What's frustrating is that people tend to lose interest very quickly once I start talking and getting into detail... I'm lucky that my wife is supportive as she is - without her I'd have nobody to bounce ideas off of 😅

That, and I was stuck in an abusive marriage for 11 years. I went from hanging out with friends and family all the time to only my highly-possesive and jealous (now ex) wife. Naturally, none of which came out until right after we tied the knot; she changed almost overnight. I'm happily remarried now, but that first marriage stole a lot of my life from me.

What are you talking about "stooping to their level"? We literally shot Nazis on-sight because they were such a threat.

Just because violence isn't graceful, doesn't mean it's not necessary to end a threat to humanity. Sometimes it's the moral thing to do. Some people are simply too dangerous to allow their existence.
