For sure guinea pigs would evolve into capybaras

It's deeply pleasuring to scratch inside your ears and of course dogs can't do it. Probably anyone would accept to be domesticated just to feel this pleasure too!

I had the same thoughts when my dentist suggested it, but fortunately nowadays we have more choices for doing it.

I don't know where you live and how much you can expend in it, but I've decided to use these removable invisible aligners (like Invisalign) and had no regrets. They're faster to do their job, more trustable to get the alignment you need and, well, they're not too visible as regular braces.

As other people said, correcting your teeth is something you will enjoy for the rest of your life. So, if you can afford invisible aligners and can follow their instructions (like using them for 20h per day, regularly brushing your teeth etc), I totally recommend going this way.

Besides what method you'll choose, remember that everyone of them is temporary and you'll be really happy with the results in the near future. I get the concern about what other people will think, but you should remember you're doing something for you and to feel happier with yourself! :)

So I'm willing to replace my physical notebook for my Samsung Galaxy Tab 5, but I'm having trouble finding the exactly app for me.

I need a note taking app with basically 2 features:

  1. Convert handwrite to text
  2. Ability to select the page background (I want to use a daily template that I've already made)

I doesn't expect it to be free, but it would be nice for an app that, at least, offer a free trial.

And it'd be nice if it could sync between devices, specially with my Mac.

Any suggestions?

EDIT:

I saw a lot of people telling about Samsung Notes, but the handwrite to text conversion simply doesn't exist for me. I think it's probably because I'm (still) not using a pen.

Another option would be using the Gboard handwriting feature, but I didn't get used to it. I prefer writing directly at the place that the text needs to be.

Oh, thanks for showing the other side! Like always, things are not just black and white.
I have never heard about Melroy before, but I was scared by the last comment. It's nice to hear that there are nice people working on this branch :)

That makes sense!

For my basic knowledge working side by side with a lot of devs, I totally agree with the way Ernest thinks. It's essential for a product that's growing up to have a solid core that will not need to be rewrote in the near future.

But also, as an user, I keep wishing we could see more features, like the API for mobile apps.

I mean, besides what Ernest and Melroy thinks that's the right way, there's also what the users need, what the users want and what the project needs to escalate (new features vs core rewriting). And probably there's not a right answer for that.

Honest question: what's the reason to make a fork instead of contributing do kbin itself?

Thanks for explaining!
Now I know it's almost like they're asking for me to uninstall their app!

I can't believe it took so many years, but it is finally here!

Same here! Many years ago I paid for a lifetime subscription and I really don't regret it (but only because it was an one-time payment for life).

Watch out, he's going to virtually punch you until you upvote his comment, like a real man would do

You mean when violence was more aceptable than talking? Of course I remember (even because it still exists) and I'm very happy that society is evolving

Kbin notifications (kbin.social)
submitted 1 year ago by mizzyc@kbin.social to c/kbinMeta@kbin.social

After some time missing an app, I managed to really like Kbin even on my browser, specially with some mods (my favourites are Kbin Usability Pack and Kbin Subscriptions Panel), but I really miss notifications for interactions on my posts and comments.

I think that this would almost solve my problem of don't having an app. Does anyone else feel the same?

[-] mizzyc@kbin.social 4 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Question: all these permitions are allowed by default? Or the app asks for it and you can allow them or not from Android/iOS permissions, like notifications?

I think that the answer for all your questions is "no".

I saw that the test instances have some nice new features that are not still released for kbin.social.

So I was thinking that it'd be nice to know when things are being updated here and what have changed.
Is there any place I can see this?

I already understood that, for now, the Kbin upvote not really upvote a post/comment and to do so, I need to boost it.

But, how do Lemmy (and possibly other sites from Fediverse) deal with this difference?

For example:
If I boost a Lemmy post in Kbin, it'll count as an upvote on Lemmy? Or do I need to upvote it when it's a cross-post from another Fediverse?
And how does Lemmy understand a boost in post at Kbin?
Also, if someone at Lemmy upvote my post in Kbin, it'll count as an upvote or as a boost?
