This week I was out of town so I didn't track my meals. But I went on bike rides every day, practiced meditation on a few days and did some reading. Went hiking today. Overall I think it was a good week.

As I mentioned in the previous mega, the weather is starting to get warmer so I want to focus on exercise for the next 3-4 months. I want to develop a regular exercise routine. I think currently my ideal exercise routine would be running 2x per week and doing a bodyweight workout at least 1x per week. Doing yoga and hiking on the weekends. I'm focusing on cardio because my goal is to have more energy, good mood and overall health benefits rather than getting strong and building muscle (I want to focus on that later).

I want to start eating at maintenance so that I have enough energy to exercise. Does anybody have a recommendation for a good TDEE calculator?

This week I continued tracking my meals for the third week in a row. I practiced meditation on 4 days. I went hiking today. Overall it was a good week, definitely better than last week.

I think February went well. I was mostly focused on nutrition and weight loss. I tracked my meals for 3 weeks and lost some weight.

It's gonna start getting warmer next month so I want to start focusing on exercise. I want to go running at least once per week but ideally twice. I also want to practice bodyweight exercises at least once per week. solidarity

That's a great idea, I'm also doing this. It's easier for me to do a boring household chore if I know it's only gonna take 20 minutes

I admire your disciplined and systemic approach to practicing, I think you have what it takes to be really good. Maybe you just need a short break to recharge

Would you say that the book is worth reading, aside from the brainworms? That guy also has a book on digital minimalism. I've listened to some podcast episode where he was being interviewed and it was interesting.

Thank you comrade. I definitely noticed a huge difference with meditation, especially at the beginning when I first started it. Meditating is by far one of the best habits you can learn, it is essentially a superpower.

It's also great in terms of bang for your buck, since you can get great benefits with just 10 minutes per day.

These days there are a lot of free meditation apps so it's easy to learn as well. Just install one of the apps (I use Insight Timer) and play some guided meditations. Here is one of my favourites.

Hi comrade, I am always glad to see our comrades from Lemmygrad. heart-sickle

Have you ever tried journaling? I have been journaling every day for years and it basically saved my life. I don't have the same conditions as you but I can relate to a lot that you said.

I used to hate myself but my therapist has helped me to see that I don't have to. He showed me that those thoughts weren't organically coming from within me but instead had been planted and fed by my awful parents. Once I learned to identify which thoughts were "mine" and which were "theirs" it became a lot easier to dismiss that kind of negativity and even learn to like myself. All that is to say that I KNOW I have the ability to grow and improve. I have proof of it and I'm grateful that I no longer longingly think about dying constantly or hit myself or belittle myself for not living up to unrealistic expectations. I realized that I would have no desire to hate and be cruel to someone else who was in my type of situation, so why the hell would I do that to myself?

This is awesome, I think that self-compassion is one of the most important life skills but nobody is talking about it. I recommend this self-compassion test.

I think you're already on a great path because you have the desire to change and also have the knowledge that you can improve, as you said. Those are really important, now it's just a matter of making a bit progress every day.

So basically, my advice is to write a journal, actively practice self-compassion and try to make a bit of progress each day. unity

In the past week, I practiced meditation on 4 days in a row, went running on one day and cooked my healthy lentil & chickpea stew.

Next week I would like to touch grass with a friend and hopefully do some reading. It's gonna be too cold for running so I would like to practice my bodyweight routine on at least one day.

I wanna share a subreddit called Fitness Material Heaven where people are pirating and sharing paid fitness programs and books. There is a lot of good stuff, check it out!

Good luck to everyone with their goals unity

That's a good list, I have some of these things on my list too.

My pro tip is to try making a bit of progress almost every day, no matter how tiny. Nothing is too small. Just having that feeling of "I am making progress" is really motivating to me.

My other pro tip is to track your progress.

I do it by journaling. It can often feel (especially on bad days) that you're stuck and not making any progress at all. I have made some really good progress in the past few years and the only way I'm aware of that is because I've been writing stuff down and journaling. If I didn't do that, I would feel like I haven't made any progress.
