Yeah I tried the tutorial campaign as Colombia but I think one of the DLCs that was bundled with the pack I bought broke it, causing an event not to be triggered or something, because suddenly it just stopped giving me guidance part way through (very early on). Normally I obsessively go through the tutorials for new games I am learning.

Top game of the year for me was Stepmania, no contest. Super fun to play with the family, fantastic cardio workout, sick tunes if you skip all the J-pop songs.

Half Life Alyx has been remarkable, amazing VR game. Unlike most games where you just press a button to reload your firearm you actually have to physically grab a new magazine from your backpack, unload your pistol and put the new magazine in. I once dropped the magazine on the ground when a head crab was coming towards me and I just about had a panic attack.

I also recently tried learning how to play Victoria3. So far I haven’t been able to figure out how to play more than 2 hours without crashing my economy, but I found a YouTube channel that has twenty or so 40+ minute long “beginner tutorials” so I’ll learn eventually 🙃

Sorry I didn't notice the ".ee" in your handle. Thank you @CloutAtlas@hexbear.net for explaining.

Very much so, although he does specify that in the description.

Yeah I saw a post the other day about Chinese scientists developing biodegradable bamboo-based plastic alternative. Widespread adaption of it of course will be challenging because of entrenched power of fossil fuel companies, but also small business tyrants whining about cost-per-unit. But if they're able to make it more affordable than petroleum based plastics then that would be a huge win.

Fantastic film. Once my kid is old enough I am forcing them to watch it. It made more of an impression on me of the dangers of drug use than any high school education programme could have ever dreamed of.

Yeah, that rings true. Reminds me of hearing second-hand from people canvassing for Bernie during the primaries that talking to republican households was a million times easier than Buttigeg or Kamala libs who were just on a different fucking planet entirely. The republicans were just normal working class people who want health care, but the pete-eat libs were just fawning over how much he reminded them of Obama in how he spoke (which as we know was deliberate and intentional)

despite the archaic graphics, this game did a really good job of scaring the absolute piss out of me when I played it
