Found in the wild. Songs of John Fogerty finding out what rain is and then immediately hating it

I agree on your point about artistic interpretation, and by nature of subject matter (and lack of historical cataloging) this is a bit of a subjective playlist. I can see what you mean about this having the vibe of a gay relationship now that I'm listening to the song and reading the lyrics, so I'll add it

Could you give me some backstory for the choice? I'm only asking cause the annotation at the bottom of this lyrics page has a quote from Gore saying "The song has nothing to do with relationships. It’s about the concept of fleeing from reality and the evil awakening afterwards. Any kind of fleeing. Drugs, alcohol, or whatever" But if there's more to it let me know. I did include Boys Say Go and Whats Your Name by Depeche Mode on there (tracks 200 and 201)

my playlist of LGBT+ songs of the 20th century in chronological order (including non-queer classics adopted by the community)

Please note that this is a work in progress, and some time periods will be more subjective than historical. I'm not looking to argue over song choices, but suggestions of songs to add are more than welcome! I'm sure I've missed a ton

on a more personal note: I know this year's been pretty grim for a lot of reasons. So I hope my playlist can bring you a sense of belonging and understanding, knowing that we've always existed (and resisted)

Happy Pride everyone!

bonus: There's a really great album missing on spotify from 1962 called Love Is a Drag by Gene Howard. Here's a bandcamp link: https://loveisadrag.bandcamp.com/album/for-adult-listeners-only

There's a lot of human behavior I don't understand. Used to make me feel like an alien as a kid.

Like the super unhealthy parasocial relationships people think they have with famous people, and more appalling is the way the media feeds right into it. People acting like it's normal to obsess over details about celebrities personal lives is very weird to me.

I don't understand cheating... just break up and then you can fuck who you want. Why does deceiving someone and breaking their trust have to be a part of it? Why is that necessary?

I don't understand how you can be the richest elongated muskrat in the world, so rich you just doubled your wealth, and not do anything to help people who need it. I don't know how he can live with himself. And what I really don't get is that he clearly wants the world to see him as some sort of important amazing brilliant person. So why not do the thing. DO THE THING AND HELP YOU SELFISH FUCK

Don't even get me started with bigotry. It just does not make sense. Why does someone's skin pigment effect people so drastically? Why does the gender or sexual orientation of strangers matter? People need to focus on themselves and mind their business. If someone would like to make minding your business the new fad of 2025 I'm here for it.

it's the 1990s and you're an angry little anti-establishment feminist scribbling in their zine (mostly riot grrrl, punk, early queercore, and whatever else fits)

If you want to be upset about children getting gender surgeries, then rage at circumcisions and forced gender reassignment for intersex infants, because no one is giving transgender children gender surgery or hormone treatments. The only thing kids may receive (within the us and canada, I'm not sure about other countries) is puberty blockers, which are safe and reversible simply by stopping their usage.

Drag storytime is not sexual at all, don't fall for that lie. There are many different types of drag shows; storytime and adult burlesque are miles apart in differences.

They really went out of their way to make this look more like a passport photo... why is he in a full suit and tie and not in a jumpsuit? Where is his placard with his name and info? Are they really allowing someone arrested to have a sharp object on hand (his pin)? I really hate the double standards.

I would sacrifice chatgpt to have chaigpt stands. Chai is delicious.
