Made a new community: !my_history@monyet.cc.

I dedicated it for the telling of obscure lesser-known local histories that is not on "mainstream" history i.e. the textbooks.

I'm not a historian, not by a long shot, but it doesn't take one to appreciate echoes of our past. Echoes that we need to repeat else it'd disappear forever.

As a side note: I create communities when I found none for which I wanted to share stuff I'm interested in at that moment. I may not be that qualified to curate the subject matter. I'm basically parking on it until smarter people come forth and take charge.

The exceptions to these are !restoran_vargina@monyet.cc and !rukbut_dev@monyet.cc. 😂

The history on Mahathir from his Iskandar Kutty root is worth to mention that it didn't get on mainsteam history enough.

Iskandar Kutty is such a shame for him to deny his past and he thinks it brought shame to himself, a fact that he couldn't alter in universe, no matter which timeline he intends to put himself in, he will always be a Tamil.

Ooo, nice, i think it's a net win if there's some place to post stuff. Though i'm not a historian too so it would be hard for me to contribute 🙈

There's loads of things hidden away in our everyday lives. The ruins that used to be opulent palaces. The abandoned keramat shrines. Royalty buried in a small mausoleum in a little parish cemetery by the roadside. The weirdly straight kampung roads that used to be railway beds. The old Victoria Institution building where the principal used to shoot crocodiles basking on the river banks.

And, best of all, the old photos of places that are radically different today. EDIT: this could be spun off into a different community, and I suggest we do. But that's for later.

Welcome to our virtual third place, The Café.

Come on in and make a new human connection over a cup of coffee (or Teh Tarik). This is a casual community, do whatever you want, share your oyen pics, your frustrations, and even organize a weekend picnic with the community. The world is your oyster.

Rules are simple, be kind and civil with each other. As with any other café, rude patrons will be kicked out.
