Probably started as a troll and picked up by dumbasses. Like the Flat Earth Society.

[-] Jolteon@lemmy.zip 22 points 11 months ago

I wonder if the Finland conspiracy has any genuine believers yet...

This kinda makes me feel old.

The version I heard I thought it was New Zealand... 😝

[-] DrSleepless@lemmy.world 4 points 11 months ago

Wait, it’s not Iceland?

[-] Mr_Fish@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago

I've also heard it's Australia

[-] jaybone@lemmy.world 7 points 11 months ago

But then where do the waffles come from? And the chocolates? And diamonds?

[-] BuboScandiacus@mander.xyz 11 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

All those things come from Bielefeld !

You have been lied to your whole life !

[-] jaybone@lemmy.world 6 points 11 months ago

Ok, you convinced me. Where do I sign up?

[-] BuboScandiacus@mander.xyz 5 points 11 months ago

Uhhh...

That's a great great question..

"Where is Bielefeld ?"

We know that it exists. But where ?

[-] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 11 months ago

Bielefeld? The football club from Armenia? πŸ˜‰

[-] abbadon420@lemm.ee 3 points 11 months ago

Where does black metal come from?

[-] moody@lemmings.world 4 points 11 months ago
[-] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 11 months ago

Mostly Norway, Sweden, and (to a lesser extent) Denmark.

Also from a profound sense of alienation combined with a tendency towards macabre flamboyancy and just subjective stylistic preferences of expression, I guess 🀷

[-] Knuschberkeks@leminal.space 3 points 11 months ago

Hate to be this guy, but it's Norway.

[-] Deme@sopuli.xyz 2 points 11 months ago

Ahchchcually USA has by far the most metal bands, but yeah Finland leads the per capita list by far.

[-] gwilikers@lemmy.ml 6 points 11 months ago

That sounds like something a Finn would say.

[-] lugal@sopuli.xyz 5 points 11 months ago

So Finns do exist, other than Belgian people

[-] VindictiveJudge@lemmy.world 5 points 11 months ago

Careful, that word's really offensive in most parts of the galaxy.

[-] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 11 months ago

Except in serious screenplays, of course.

[-] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 11 months ago

I once won the Rory Award for The Most Gratuitous Use of that word in a Serious Screenplay, you know.. Then someone stole it, of course..

[-] Kichae@lemmy.ca 2 points 11 months ago

Pretty sure it was Idaho

[-] Nougat@fedia.io 5 points 11 months ago
[-] Jolteon@lemmy.zip 8 points 11 months ago
[-] Nougat@fedia.io 7 points 11 months ago

That what does not exist? I have no idea what you're talking about.

[-] Knuschberkeks@leminal.space 3 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

what a lame copy of the Bielefeld-Conspiracy

[-] OmegaLemmy@discuss.online 4 points 11 months ago
