There was a series of content-farming posts where there was a picture of a take-out restaurant and the title was “What are you getting?”

I made a joke about getting diarrhea from an ethnic restaurant, and given certain context, violence against ethnic minorities, and stereotypes it was considered by users and mods to be racist.

FIY the way people in the US use “ethnic” as a descriptor for things that are unfamiliar to them is also racism/xenophobia. If you can’t see why, think about why nobody calls Chipotle or Olive Garden “ethnic restaurants” despite their menus narrowly corresponding to cuisines of certain ethnicities.
