I'm honestly surprised they bothered to keep the LGB on there at all since unlike the JK Rowlings of the world the Republicans and their christofascist ideologues don't pretend to be allies to cis gay people

Are they concerned that if they tried to unperson the entire LGBT community all at once they'd spark a backlash too big to contain

would be more resistance, and it also encourages the transphobic parts of the 'lgb' communities to participate in erasing us before society turns on them.

Acceptance of Lesbian and Gay people is more widespread, and Bisexual people are usually erased into one of those two groups, or seen as straight. So fighting that is unpopular and a losing issue. But Transgender acceptance is at an all-time low in the last decade according to recent polls. Among the general American population, 79% support the ban of Transgender women in sports, 71% support banning puberty blockers for Transgender minors, 49% think Transgender acceptance has gone too far, with only 21% thinking that Transgender acceptance needs to go further. GOP propaganda and DNC failure has successfully made the general American public drop the T from LGBT. It's seen as a seperate issue, and unfortunately Trump's policies here, just like with deporting illegal immigrants, enjoy wide popular support. It's also part of why the liberal resistance to them has been so pathetic so far even when compared to 2016, because there's one to resist among the general public. Most people support this.

In short, we are fucked. Really badly.

DNC failure implies they were trying to push back. As always, the republicans crank up the fascism and democrats “follow the law”

If they'll force us through the wrong puberty there's nothing they wouldn't do.

Salami tactics.

They absolutely do pretend to be allies of gay people since it hasn't been politically advantageous to be openly homophobic since like 2007. They especially pretend when the subject of Islam or communism comes up. Look at how they talk about gay people who support Gaza, or how they'll fabricate claims about Cuba or China's supposed homophobia.

I don't think it's worked yet, but turning queer people into Islamopobes is definitely some long term state department project.

I need an emoji I can just post every time this comes up. LGBTQ+ rights, women's rights, and so on are the modern version of "White Man's Burden" when used by liberals. They don't actually give a shit about these issues or they would eliminate discrimination within their own borders. When it comes to "evil" brown and black countries? That's when they'll whip out the identity politics to justify military action. They've replaced democracy, "civilization," and Christianity with bad faith idpol.

They moved LGBTQI+ from the top of the list to LGB at the bottom, even the new placement became the very worst travel.state.gov travelers with special considerations changes

The OP mentioned an adoption information page and it's crazy to me that the current government would leave any acknowledgment of queer parents at all when right-wingers spent the last four years painting every LGBT person as "groomers"
