I think the phrase that was old when I was young is "take it like a man", which has always had that connotation imo

Oh yeah its just funny its now coming mostly from dudes softer than terry cloth. The pres dodged a draft and while it is a good thing considering what we know of the US military, that would be seen by these chuds as the ultimate opposite of taking it like a man
