I guess everyone's hoping the bond market is powerful enough to make Trump back down because it doesn't look like China's blinking.
The White House Press Secretary replied to a question about Trump's tariffs and she said trust Trump. That's predictable but it really amused me. It made me think of a plane with a total moron pilot at the controls. The plane is flying lower and lower and it's clear he's going to kill everybody and crash the plane has a mountain range gets closer and closer and also bigger and bigger.
She is the flight attendant and she's on the intercom saying "Trust Trump. Trust Trump. Trust Trump." like a parrot.
Yeah, but he's established a history of pulling back from the very precipice and getting rewarded for it, so in a way he's being incentivized to fly as close to the mountain as possible. One possibility is he pulls up and he and all his buddies make a bunch of money again like last week, the other is that he waits too long and the plane goes poof
. Which one will it be? Place your bets and find out!

I'm already tired of this 35,000 ft high circus, so I hope the plane fucking stalls and goes into an unrecoverable dive.
Fun part is we won't know when that happened until after we crash.
