On this week this niche leftist forum was first launched (its was the 24th or 25th i think) Formed from the Chapotraphouse subreddit remnants that survived the reddit ban over the calls of violence against confederate slave owners, the first admins decided to use Lemmy as its base. Originally called Chapo.chat (ChaCha) Hexbear has grown into one of the biggest instances in the lemmyverse.
In this last 5 years hexbear has survived many diffent events from numerous struggle sessions, mod clique-users conflicts, wrecker incursions from other instances and sites, this image 
, a decent amount of fedidrama with other instances and the domain crisis, we still thrive with over 5 million comments and 375k posts.
I still continue my dictatorial rule over the general megathread for now over 4 years now, this time locked in the chapo comm so it can be more easily moderated, c/indigenous has now grown to 750 subs which im very happy plus now i take care of the empoc mega which has been pretty chill so far.
I still really enjoy the fedidrama, it fun to see all the fedilibs always thinking about hexbear despide the fact that they are on defederated instances and they can ust ignore us, we live rent free on their minds

Really cool and good my entire teenage and 20s are going to be spent first during the rich getting away with fucking up the economy after occupy and now I canβt afford to ever start my life, but now I have to see the new golden age of conservatism where anything I enjoy will either be banned or will be subject to constant ridicule and all the stupid douchebags get to keep living in a perpetual high school where being a douche is seen as cool.

I don't think "new golden age" is accurate. There's certainly a reprisal, but the material support needed to sustain it just isn't there. Not saying times aren't fucking tough as that process happens, it's gonna be a sucky decade or so, but the pendulum is gonna swing culturally. The settlers are not going to turn anti-imperial, but they are going to demand comfort from their imperial overlords in the form of social democracy. A few concessions from the ruling class are nearly inevitable (probably at least 5 years out, though).
