Yes we all know that trans rights got stronger under Joe Biden and his administration was able to enshrine strong trans protections.... Oh wait.

Those Democrats have done so much to help pull us into a new enlightened age and definitely haven't let Republican policies stand every single time they got back into office.

[-] PugJesus@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Holy fucking shit, do you not remember what things were like in the 90s and 2000s?

What am I saying? Asking an ML to understand recent history? I might as well ask a dog to play the fucking guitar.

[-] dastanktal@lemmy.ml -3 points 1 week ago

.... this is awkward.

Speaking of recent history can you remind me what party was in charge from 2000 to 2008? You know when those rights were increasing in society?

Its fun to point out when people use fallacies like the ones you used here. A genetic fallacy and an ad hominem. It's the sign of a weak orator. One who is unable to actually support their arguments.

Someone is playing apologia for the Bush Adminstration's position on trans rights?

Holy fucking shit. MLs really are just conservative bootlicks.

Lord.

Did you not say that trans rights in LGBT rights were awful in the 1990s?

Is the Bush Administration later than the 1990s?

Did you like not think about this? That is a very shallow interpretation bordering on irresponsible.

I'm sorry did I respond to you or did you respond to me? Who wants to debate who?

[-] PugJesus@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

Me:

Holy fucking shit, do you not remember what things were like in the 90s and 2000s?

I understand that reading two whole words is a bit of a strain for you, but I promise that reading entire sentences will help your comprehension.

I’m sorry did I respond to you or did you respond to me? Who wants to debate who?

Do you... do you not realize who the OP is?

Fuck's sake.

[-] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 0 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

I understand that reading two whole words is a bit of a strain for you

I'm going back and forth with this guy right now. I posted a link to a bill for trans rights Democrats introduced during Biden's presidency AFTER Dem's lost the House in response to House Republicans attempting to pass anti-trans bills and this loser's reply clearly indicated he didn't read the contents of the bill, which were actually VERY minimal. Like, a few sentences and a date the bill was introduced.

This person doesn't read. They just complain and have no actual, viable solutions. They are useless. Actually, they are worse than useless. They are working in opposition to the best outcomes for our nation, especially in the short term over the next few elections.

[-] dastanktal@lemmy.ml -2 points 1 week ago

You know you don't need to respond to every comment and that not every comment is for the op.

Okay so when did trans rights get better according to you? And why don't you give me an example of the Democrats having a hand in that?

Last I checked part of the reason trans rights got better is because the lgbtq community fought tooth and nail for every right they had. Not because the Democrats been benevolently bestowed upon them the rights they should have had in the first place.

Stretching vague definitions to try and cover your argument. Well played.

[-] PugJesus@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

You know you don’t need to respond to every comment and that not every comment is for the op.

You responded to my post. Whether I needed to respond to you, you responded to me.

Sorry if that's too complex for you to parse.

The LGBT community fought tooth and nail. Guess what was the vehicle for moving trans-friendly legislature and executive action into law?

PROTIP: It was not the Republican Party.

Sorry that politics are so far beyond your comprehension?

Stretching vague definitions to try and cover your argument. Well played.

I'm sorry that you were incapable of reading two whole words??

[-] dastanktal@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 week ago

I responded to the benefit of other people looking at your post. It's attracting a lot of attention And I want to highlight the lack of action of the Democrats.

I did not respond to you but to the overall post. Regardless I don't really care about this point so I can concede it.

The courts. Specifically the Roberts courts. Not the Democrats. Give the ACLU a bunch of credit but you'll notice that's not the Democrats.

Protip: if you're going to give the Democrats credit for it at least have something lined up to prove it.

Forgive me, 🙏 I misinterpreted what you wrote as 1990s to 2000. I'm still confused as how the Democrats led the lgbtq+ revolution in the 2010s.

[-] PugJesus@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

The courts. Specifically the Roberts courts.

  1. The Roberts Court was very fucking far from the only or even the biggest contributor to improved LGBT rights in the US

  2. Who the ever-loving fuck do you think appointed the liberal justices who were instrumental to those rulings??

Forgive me, 🙏 I misinterpreted what you wrote as 1990s to 2000. I’m still confused as how the Democrats led the lgbtq+ revolution in the 2010s.

How is it confusing that the only major pro-LGBT party was a major vehicle for the improvement of LGBT rights???

[-] dastanktal@lemmy.ml 0 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)
  1. Who was the tiebreaker vote? not a Democrat
  2. Those justices were not guaranteed to rule that way and it should not have required a supreme court action to ensure rights to gay marriage.

Okay so the Democrats managed to appoint a couple of Supreme Court Justices that brought the balance to 5-4. Not that it matters because they squandered that with the win of the Trump Administration.

You're giving the Democrats far too much credit for rights at the LGBT community fought for themselves. So what did the Democrats accomplish, instead of just not prosecuting lgbtq people? Did they do anything to help enshrine the rights of lgbtq people because I remember that being a major problem for the Democrats was that they weren't doing anything for for the lgbtq community.

It's like when people give Henry Ford the credit for the 8-hour workday and not the unions that died fighting for that right.

[-] Genius@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 week ago

Your arguments are weak and you're being clowned on

[-] dastanktal@lemmy.ml -1 points 1 week ago

Riveting commentary from a self identified genius.

[-] InternetCitizen2@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Yes we all know that trans rights got stronger under Joe Biden and his administration was able to enshrine strong trans protections.... Oh wait.

Are they getting better with your abstinence?

[-] dastanktal@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 week ago

Yep let's keep voting in the people that promise to do something about it and then they do nothing about it like they've done for the last 20 plus years.

[-] dastanktal@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 week ago

Congratulations you highlighted voter apathy. A very well known problem in the United States.

Care to explain how your strategy of harm reduction supposed to energize the Electoral it and get them out voting again when that strategy completely failed in 2024?

It's almost like we should do something different than try to convince people to vote in the system that doesn't work for them, that burns everybody out

[-] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 0 points 1 week ago

It’s almost like we should do something different

STILL WAITING FOR YOU TO PROPOSE SOMETHING VIABLE, CHAMP!!!!

[-] dastanktal@lemmy.ml 0 points 1 week ago

Hey how that strategy of vote or lose the US to facisim work out?

We ready to do something different or just keep trying to same losing strat?

[-] InternetCitizen2@lemmy.world 0 points 1 week ago

Congratulations you highlighted voter apathy. A very well known problem in the United States.

I am aware, and tankies like you are stoking it and abandoning this key front in our [class] war.

Care to explain how your strategy of harm reduction supposed to energize the Electoral it and get them out voting again when that strategy completely failed in 2024?

Id like you to answer why watching removing the few political blocks we could put on ICE, abortion removal, and LGBT rights is a good move? I live in a place with a large Hispanic population. Please visit and tell the kids that you were to pure to hold your nose on election day and that them being afraid of showing up to an empty home one day is just how it needs to be.

Tankies just aren't serious people and bad allies.

[-] dastanktal@lemmy.ml 0 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Yeah the second International thought electoralism was really important too. They were wrong.

I would be happy to teach those kids all about Marx's Theory and the different ways ways that they can survive and how to hide and survive in this government.

I'd especially love to point out that you think voting is the most important thing you can do. Going to be really fun when you find out that nobody really cares how you voted since it doesn't really affect material conditions especially once the election is over.

I'd love for you to sit there and explain why the Democrat Party isn't doing anything more for those Hispanic kids. Maybe you can explain to them why the Democrats allowed the covid Protections in 2022 to expire that significantly helped Hispanic families? Maybe you can explain why the Democratic party isn't doing anything to obstruct Trump's policies. Maybe you can explain to these Hispanic kids that when the Democrats on the opportunity to abolished ice they wouldn't.

Radlibs are hopeless idealized fools that think voting and compromise can solve the world's problems. Marxist and Anarchist are actually aware of the work that needs to be done and are completely aware of the hostilities the government will have in trying to make anything better for anybody except the capitalist class.

You're not an ally to these people. You're a wolf in sheep's clothing walking the path to Hell paved with good intentions.

[-] InternetCitizen2@lemmy.world -1 points 1 week ago

Again:

Its not blue no matter who. Its blue when harm reduction is one of the limited choices and working to expand the progressive wing where possible.

So what are tankies doing to improve the material conditions? Protests are good and very important, but if you don't convert that energy into policy it was just a hang out. Tankies just aren't serious people. Tho I doubt tankies are even protesting.

[-] dastanktal@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 week ago

One: Marxists go all the time to protest in an effort to recruit for DSA, PSL, FSRO

Two: as I already said earlier in this thread to you Marxists and anarchists spend their time in local organizations that actually affect their community.

I spend my own effort pushing for local organizations and donating my own time and money to those local organizations which is sure of Hell a lot more effective at bringing change than voting. This is a key and core strategy of both Marxism and anarchism.

The fact that you don't know that indicates that you should pick up a book.

[-] InternetCitizen2@lemmy.world 0 points 1 week ago

One: Marxists go all the time to protest in an effort to recruit for DSA, PSL, FSRO

Sure, and i am talking about tankies like you discouraging people from action.

[-] dastanktal@lemmy.ml 0 points 1 week ago

I haven't discouraged people from action.

I've discourage people from electoralism

Get it right.

By the way would you explain what a tankie is so that everyone else here can understand the pejorative term that you continue to misuse?

[-] InternetCitizen2@lemmy.world 0 points 1 week ago

I haven’t discouraged people from action.

I’ve discourage people from electoralism

So one of the many actions we need to take.... Again, be serious. Notice how in the thread you have not said anything that leads to legislation? Tankies are not serious people.

[-] dastanktal@lemmy.ml 0 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Notice how legislation didn't save us when we had four years to prepare.

Hmm.

Radlibs really need to pick up a book about political Theory from somebody other than another liberal.

You claim it's one of the many actions we need to take I think it's a waste of our time and history supports my position as clearly evident by the clusterfuck of the United States

[-] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Yes we all know that trans rights got stronger under Joe Biden and his administration was able to enshrine strong trans protections… Oh wait.

"WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH. They didn't fix everything, including things that weren't being threatened while they were in power. I'm going to use my energy to try to get people to not vote or vote 3rd party so we can ensure even longer Republican control of our nation and even more persecution against trans people. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!"

[-] dastanktal@lemmy.ml -1 points 1 week ago

Oh? So what did they fix?

Go ahead and list it out. I will wait.
