aged 19 and 31

This HAS to be fake, right?! Like, surely you wouldn't just tweet that out?! Just don't add that detail and your fashy complaints seem almost normal to brunchers! Cmon, great bit and all but surely no ones that dumb...

My sister dated a 35 year old when she was 18-19 😔 it happens and people can be uncomfortably accepting of it. 100% guarantee this guy sees nothing wrong with it

I know it happens, I'm just shocked about his willingness to highlight that fact for people, like why mention it!

wtf

I'm trying to think of another example but I can't think of one atm, its just such a huge self own is all I mean

I think (worry?) that what you see as a self-own, he sees as a flex.

[-] sharkfucker420@lemmy.ml 33 points 2 months ago

I had not even considered this

This post finally makes me understand what the guy saying "Shut Up!" was feeling in the 'They hated Jesus for telling them the truth' comic.

This is absolutely a flex to him. No other reason to even mention ages here.

It’s actually pretty common where I live. You’ll see teens dating guys in their mid to late twenties all the time.

As long as everyone is above 18 at least they're adults and should be trusted to be able to make their own decisions. That doesn't mean it can't be gross and problematic though.

The problem isn't that she's barely an adult; the problem is that 19 year olds don't typically date someone so far outside of college age, so there is an almost certain chance that he groomed her before she turned 18.

Guys like this want to normalise their fucked up grooming behaviour, and you don't normalise it by admitting it is a bad, you normalise it by just casually mentioning it and treating it like a normal thing.
